Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a Southern favorite- fried green tomatoes topped with pimento cheese. Chicken pot pie cooked in iron skillet was comfort food at its best. Franklin the server was amiable and very attentive. I definitely recommend Bloomsbury bistro. Thanks again Franklin.

Beyond 5 stars. Bloomsbury Bistro was excellent in every way! I had a surprise retirement party here. Brandy, the General Manager, was professional and accommodating, meeting my needs and all requests. The restaurant is very attractive. The owner and chef Stephen Koster took time to meet us and prepared fabulous food, even providing for vegetarian and vegan guests. All guests raved about the delicious courses. The wait staff was expedient and accommodating. Bloomsbury Bistro made the event a huge success!

My husband and I dined at Bloomsbury last week and the staff went “above and beyond” to seat us in a quiet corner so that we could enjoy a dinner. They took care of us all evening! Our server was caring and attentive; the quality of the food was outstanding. I can’t thank you enough for accommodating us. It was a memorable dinner on all accounts.

Bloombury Bistro is a great neighborhood joint with amazing food and service. Franklin took very good care of us. We enjoyed some oyster appetizers and our entrees were excellent. Also save room for the dessert too. Great wine and cocktail selection. Recommend reservations as it can get busy on weekend.

This is one of my favorite places to eat while in the Raleigh area. The service is always top notch. Whether its lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed. Chef Stephen has put a lot of love and work into creating dishes, and you can tell. I had the short rib on my last visit and it just melts in your mouth. It was great as left overs the next day also. Parking is easy

first, we had reservations for 8:30 for a pre paid for valentines date. we did not get seated until 8:40 and we arrived ten minutes early for our reservation as well, so we waited 20 mins to be seated for a reservation. then once we finally got seated we weren’t acknowledged by the waiter until 8:50. we put in our orders. two tables that got seated after us received their appetizers first. i had to ask why they got their food before us when our order also went in before theirs, it came out immediately after i said something.

then the food…. there were shells in my bisque that i literally had to pick out and then i got one in my mouth that i essentially had to spit out. my partner’s appetizer, the mushrooms, were literally so small and were cold. not really what you want happening on what was supposed to be a nice date. then i got the short ribs, the smaller piece was fine, needed salt, it had no flavor, the bigger piece was completely dry, so dry i thought i would choke. the chicken entree my boyfriend had along with my “love potion” drink were the only highlights. then the chocolate raspberry dessert was bitter and tasted like a ghirardelli square, the cheesecake was fine but the black cherries added on top tasted like cough medicine. for something that this restaurant pre charged you for you would expect service to be immaculate. but instead they pre charged for sub par food. and then we understood the drinks were separate…. but they then attached an automatic 20% gratuity to just the drinks. we were very displeased and will never return. out of 6 total plates of food only 1 of 6 was actually decent.

I had a disappointing dining experience at this establishment. Unfortunately, the butter was served frozen, which was quite inconvenient. Moreover, I had to wait for an extended period of time before my drink was refilled, which was frustrating. The soup was served cold and had an unpleasant taste. The chicken pie was a disappointment as well, as it had an unappetizing combination of chicken and wheat, both in appearance and flavor. Additionally, the cauliflower was undercooked and raw. Overall, I would not recommend this place in Raleigh. Instead, I suggest trying either Capital Grill or Rey’s, as they provide a far superior dining experience.
