Pulled up to Blockhouse Coffee & Kitchen in Richmond, Texas… just a little too late for the kitchen
Timing wasn’t on my side this visit — but that only means I’ll be back earlier next time.

I was in town one day and decided to have breakfast and lunch here. The breakfast tacos were small but tasty and the hot honey lavender latte I got was well balanced.
The BLTA with the garlic aioli for lunch was SO good. I also had the chamomile honey tea iced and it was very refreshing. If I am back in the area I would definitely come back for that sandwich. I think the aioli made it.
The space overall is very nice and they have a lot of seating both indoor and outdoor. The people that took our order were nice and very knowledgeable.

I have been coming here for a few years because their iced latte are the best in the area near courthouse. Often when just picking up a coffee you can get over the bad customer service.
Usually the food is decent today the toast was burnt, coffee order was spoken out load but unable to hear . The intention of the place is community and unity but it is very tailored to certain type of people.
This is your spot if you like decent coffee and don’t know how to make it at home – or have a group of friends that just enjoys the location of the place. However if you are expecting amazing welcoming atmosphere , place to study this is not it.

Coffee was good, not exceptional. Interior is small and all seats/tables were occupied by individuals on their phones or laptops. Weather not conducive for sitting outside. Nice looking back patio. We ate in our car. Not the experience we wanted.

I don’t like to make “bad” reviews but the expectations for this place were high. The place is nice and cozy. I only ordered a Latte and a Chocolate croissant. Coffee was average and not warm enough. Croissant was warmed in a bad way and tasted old and dry .

This is what a coffee shop is supposed to be: Cozy, welcoming, a nice place to work or chill. The outdoor seating is best because the inside gets a smokey haze from the kitchen. If you are lucky you could be blessed with the fleeting affection of a small black kitty.

So cool! What a treat to have in Richmond.
The coffee is excellent, and the service and atmosphere are superb. My son loves going to Blockhouse so he can get a treat and play outside in the playground. There’s often enough kids to keep him occupied, and I love sitting outside.
You must try it out! But, let me skip in line if too many of you show up and I end up having to start waiting in some long line to get my fix…

We love Blockhouse! It is the perfect family place and positioned perfectly in historic downtown Richmond. Our boys love playing on their fort while we enjoy our coffee and food. Must visit if you’re in the Richmond/Rosenberg area!

Been here twice. The coffee is good and strong. I like 3 minutes away and the biggest reason why I wouldnt go back is because there is so much seating that dont have outlets. So if you have work to do I would avoid. But they are good for a quick visit.
