Restaurant opened at 12:00noon with customers already waiting. This gives an impression of the class and quality. I was not disappointed. Good location, nice cuisine comfortable atmosphere and courteous attendants.

I myself ordered a goulash soup, lamb with potato gratin and some red wine.
goulash soup was good
Lamb: came out with 2 medallions on a plate. Texture was kind of rubbery. What’s worse is it has no taste, I honestly wasn’t able to tell what I was eating. Potato gratin and spinach was fine. But lamb was not good.
wine: ordered a glass of merlot, was pretty average.
I also tried baked potato. overloaded with sour cream.
Service: service was OK. nothing spectacular.
Overall pretty average, similar to Outback in the states.

It was a very nice lunch and our baby loved watching the kitchen. The staff was very nice and kind. My steak was perfectly medium rare but they missed the mark on my wife’s steak and it came out medium well. Still a great meal. Since we were seated close to the kitchen the noise levels weren’t exactly low but we could still talk without raising our voice and the location allowed us to keep the stroller right at the table. Our daughter had a blast watching the cooks 🙂

Already had experience with other Block House restaurants in Stuttgart and Munich as well and the food was there ok. This time in Hamburg I took a Mr.Rumpsteak 250gr. Beef medium baked with a fried potatoe and salad which was all good.

Dear All,
We only go to Block House for „traditional“ reasons.
The meat is delicious and you can expect the same quality in any branch across Germany (we have been to many branches in Hamburg and elsewhere).
Portions have dramatically decreased and heavily been overprized (See picture: American Tenderloin, 250g, Garlic bread (it is a little something actually, and a small baked potatoe), 40 sth EUR.
Service: It is mass service. Also: last time we went there to have Dinner the waiter served everything but not the (included) sour creme. He promised to bring it immediately…10 minutes later and only after we looked at him to catch his attention.
Sorry, will not be back in the near Future or whensoever.

There are a lot of people in the evening! So… my order was lost :0 I got a plate of tomato’s salad with a promise to get my food very soon 🙂 And I got it 5 min later! Delicious!!!! 🙂
