We went on a Sunday at 12:30. The place was mostly empty but we were told we had to eat at the bar bc they had too many reservations. So we sat at the bar and it took a while for us to be served. When our waitress did come over she was delightful.
We were very disappointed we could not order jollof rice or plantains bc they only served the brunch menu. They also didn’t have any diet soda which was disappointing.
We settled for some wings, fried rice, and fries. When it came out we were very underwhelmed, everything looked small for the price. We were pleasantly surprised by the taste, the wings had a great crunch and the fried rice was just a little spicy which was great.
I doubt we’ll be back, it was alarming the security had to look in our purses just to enter and on our way out some guys were yelling at each other and one peeled away aggressively in his truck. This was at 2pm….makes me wonder what kind of crowd hangs out here. I didn’t feel safe during daylight, I definitely wouldn’t go after dark.

The food and drinks were good and the music was nice just a little too loud for me though. The atmosphere was great if they would have had the TV’s on the game or some type of sporting event. It was just on a fireplace display.

Our sever was amazing I forgot her name she had a low blonde hair cut. The restaurant was extremely hot, the shrimp and grits were flavorful. The lemon drops were good. It’s extremely to crowded there, you can barely move around. It took an extensive amount of time to get drinks.

My servers were great and the flavor of the food was good, until I found a piece of oyster shell in my waffle. Luckily I chew well and don’t have a shellfish allergy. Management of this restaurant is horrible. While the restaurant is all chaotic, I saw the manager smoking hookah. They moved my friends and I who had a reservation several times and sat us in front of the door where we got an unpleasant breeze the entire time. The kitchen had to take a break because of all the chaos. I feel like it’s a club first and a restaurant second.

While visiting the city my cousin brought me here for a nice dine out. The ambiance was very nice. The restaurant looked very clean & very picture esthetic ready. I wasn’t trying to eat too heavy so I got a very simple meal. I like the African spinach a lot. It was very very good. I was satisfied with that alone. The pepper wings taste like they wasn’t that fresh but they got the job done. They had a taste as if they were made earlier & sat all day & just heated up & slapped sauce on it. My waiter / bartender was “Twin”. She has a great personality & was very nice.

Inside it’s aesthetically pleasing. Got there around 1:30p. It wasn’t crowded. I was really looking forward to trying some Jollof Rice. I ordered a rum punch with ovenproof , but the bartender had never heard of Wrey and Nefew Rum and they didn’t have any. Shocking for it to be a Caribbean themed restaurant. So I just got the punch without it. The music was so loud you couldn’t even hear what the waitress was saying to you. Also it was 36 degrees outside and freezing inside the restaurant. I heard several other patrons complain about the temperature. So I mentioned it to the waitress. She said she would tell management. But nothing was ever done. I ordered the Catfish and grits with the jollof rice on the side. It came with one little piece of fish. More like a snack than a brunch meal. The jollof rice was cooked okay but was not spicy and had no flavor. I could tell my waitress was overwhelmed but she was nice. All together for my food and drink it was around $60. Personally, it’s more like a club environment rather than a restaurant. It’s not a bad establishment but management needs to really listen and consider customer feedback. And follow through with positive action. Bliss has potential to stick around if they really consider the suggestions and improvements! Overall I give em a 3.5

Bliss is a Beautiful place nothing else like it in ST.Louis Period!! The owners really took their time to bring an amazing experience and ambience here, something a lot of native St.Louisans haven’t ever seen. The atmosphere is Grown and Sexy and the food was delicious!! If you haven’t been check it out for yourself!!

Today, March 1, 2026, was my third visit to Bliss. Well I ordered catfish and grits. I was so excited because my last two visits I wasn’t too pleased with my food. They don’t have 1800 tequila so I barely can drink my drink of choice there. My server, Carter, let me know since I had a shellfish allergy I couldn’t get my item. Apparently the fish and shrimp are cooked in the same grease. That’s absolutely absurd with the amount of people with shellfish allergies. I tried! I don’t need to go back.

The food and service was exceptional. They exceeded my expectations. I made a reservation online for a Friday night and there was only one slot open for 6:30 pm. The ambiance was grown and sexy. Nice R&B music. Specialty adult drinks were $10 before 7pm. I had the red snapper and my hot date had jerk lamb chops which he shared with me…. Which was super delicious along with his Jollief west African rice…. Which had an authentic taste. My snapper was cooked to perfection and super light and healthy. The only thing this place was missing was a dessert menu… that does not change my rating of 5/5. I will definitely try this place again.
