I went at 4:30pm on a Wednesday, and had the whole place to myself! They offer a happy hour during that time too, which is great. The sushi I got was sooo good, the avocado was perfectly ripe. The staff was very friendly and attentive too! The chestnut bomb desert was fantastic!! Well worth the stop to dine, or to order pick up.

Bleu Sushi might be one of my favorite cozy sushi restaurants now in Philly. Me and my boyfriend came here at night and when we first walked in it was very beautiful — the ambiance was so nice and the waiters were very attentive.
Our starters was the torched white tuna with crispy garlic and we also got the shrimp & veggie appetizer. For the white tuna I would say that dish itself wasn’t worth it. It really just tasted like a balsamic glaze on tuna. It wasn’t an “Japanese” flavor — the dish itself felt/tasted more American. (Something you would put on a salad). Nonetheless it was decent. The tempura app was actually very good. The portion is nice and we were almost full before even ordering our mains!
We got the Orange Lover & Sushi Bleu — both were very good and tasted fresh we saw the chefs making our dish which was nice.
The staff was very attentive and very classy. I loved everything about the aesthetics, food, and service.

The sushi was good, but the entrees were just ordinary. The place is nice and dimly lighted. The food is a bit too pricey for me. If it’s not because of the groupon promotion, I would not give it a try.

It’s pretty dark in there which I didn’t love because then I can’t tell if it’s clean. The miso soup was good. The service was excellent. The sushi was just ok. I don’t think it’s worth the price. Salmon Roe, fishy. Toro, pretty plain, no depth of flavor on that one. The Wagyu nigiri was delicious. Sweet shrimp was also pretty plain. Salmon wasabi oil was delicious, and the toasted white tuna garlic was good. Hakaido scallop, ok but plain. All in all it was half and half. Some item were just not fresh enough to deserve the price, and some were just super plain tasting which is just fine but not something you expect to pay that price for considering the number of sushi spots there are to choose from. Sushi Bleu, also not worth its price tag. At the end we asked what the chestnut bomb is, waitress told us it contains no chestnuts but actually peanuts which would’ve sent us on a little trip to the hospital so I would absolutely suggest they change that name on their menu before someone mistakenly orders it and goes into anaphylactic shock. Would I return? Maybe in a year or two to see if there’s been progress, but not otherwise.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the fish was amazing. The menu did seem overwhelming from all the specials and the lack of a physical menu but everything we got was paired perfectly, all the tastes and flavors blended together beautifully. Our waiter was friendly and gave us great recommendations. I will definitely be back! The ambiance was perfect for a date night.

Food delicious, service was great (server was very kind, informative, and funny). Dumplings were fantastic, all be it small in portion but I’d definitely order them again. Sushi prices and portions were fantastic! We went on a double date w friends and would happily come back. Their mochi dessert was also delicious. Super fun, great music/atmosphere (just tight space) but overall some of the best sushi I’ve had in Philly since moving here in July!

I’ve gotta say, this place is awesome. I walked in not really knowing what to expect, and they absolutely crushed it.
The vibe is relaxed, the food comes out fast, and everyone working there is super friendly. Jonah was amazing, genuinely welcoming, and just made the whole experience feel even better. You can tell he really cares about the customers.
And the sushi? AMAZING.
Everything was insanely fresh, the fish was buttery and flavorful, and the rolls were made perfectly. Even the simple stuff tasted elevated. Their specialty rolls are fun, creative, and honestly some of the best I’ve had.
Prices are reasonable, portions are great, and the whole spot just hits all the right notes.
If you love sushi, you’ll be obsessed. If you’re on the fence, this place will convert you.
Huge shout-out to Jonah, can’t wait to come back!

Had an awesome time here! The sushi was top quality, super clean flavors, great texture, and you could tell everything was really fresh. I tried a few different rolls and every single one hit the mark.
Jonah was a huge part of why the experience was so good. He’s incredibly welcoming and really knows his way around the menu. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable.
Definitely a place I’d come back to, and Jonah is absolutely someone you want taking care of you.

I ordered takeout dinner from here last night. First time in a few years. I had a California roll, a Jefferson roll and a chicken kaarage. The chicken was perfect in flavor, but I would only order it again when eating there – fresh would be crispier. The two rolls were excellent. Just the right amount of rice, nicely flavored. Crispy fresh veggies. And the freshest Kani and shrimp I’ve ever had. What a difference from the place I tried a few nights ago. Well worth the tiny bit of an upcharge from my last go to.
I’ll definitely be exploring more of their menu. Thanks Bleu!
