Loved it before the ownership changes but the new owners is from France and a gem.
Quality and lived up to the expectations. It’s more comfortable now and loved what the new owners have done with the place.

This is the second time in two weeks that we have had dinner at the Bleu Rendezvous. Both times the service and meals have been excellent! Sean has been our server both times and he has done a wonderful job! Last week my wife and I both started with the French onion soup. It is a delicious hearty soup. Last week my wife had the preselected menu with the trout and the wine pairing with each course. She thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the scallops, which were delicious. Tonight my wife has the special, which were veal sweet breads which she liked very much. I had the halibut, which was wonderful. If you are looking for a delicious dinning experience, Bleu Rendezvous should be on your list. Reservations are a must! Sitting at the Chef’s Counter tonight, got to watch the magic happen, very fun!

This the Classic French restaurant you’re going to share with good friends! We were a group of 10 foodies from various and distinct backgrounds. We did the prefix dinner with wine pairings. Our expectations were high based on what we read about this jem and none was disappointed. The escargot and onion soup were spot on, the trout almondine and Beef Bourguignon were exceptional, but by far the star of the meal was the steak frites. A sublime surprise accompanied by a bordelaise sauce, a side of béarnaise and a small crock of blue cheese sauce shared by the chef! The wine pairings were all from Bordeaux, decanted and beyond excellent. Do not forget to order dessert! I can’t wait for our next rendezvous!

We had a delicious meal here last night and were lucky to get the chef’s table which was a lot of fun. I had the foie gras and fillet steak, both of which were excellent. We could have spent less if we had selected the menu of the day which many were having but I am glad we didn’t. The food here is high quality and as good as any French restaurant in which I have eaten. The restaurant itself is cosy and welcoming as are all the team and the chefs, one of whom is the French owner. I heard that it is the best restaurant on Sanibel Island and I definitely would agree with that. Don’t miss it.

This is my second visit to Bleu Rendezvous in the last several months. Both visits have been wonderful! We were warmly greeted at the door and made to feel welcome. The ambiance is inviting and cozy. The menu is varied with several dishes that appealed to me. My biggest issue was trying to narrow my selection. The food is wonderful and the adorable chef greeted us and checked on us to make sure we were pleased. In short, I will dine here whenever I am on Sanibel. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant!!

Wonderful, charming and very European. I ordered the black grouper (chef’s recommendation), my wife and sister ordered surf & turf and BIL ordered a filet mignon. All excellent. We shared a crepe for dessert. The chef came out several times to chat. We will definitely be back.

Bleu Rendez-Vous is a true gem. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted in French by Laurence, the owner, which immediately set the tone for an authentic and welcoming experience. It truly felt like stepping into a little piece of France. And I should know—I’m French!
We started with the escargots, which were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. For the main course, my husband had the steak with truffle fries, and it was phenomenal—cooked to perfection, juicy, and paired beautifully with the crispy, flavorful fries. I had the veal Marengo, which was rich, tender, and well-balanced. Paired with a Pinot Noir, it was an outstanding combination.
To finish, we enjoyed Chef Pierre’s chocolate mousse, which was as decadent as it was delicious—the perfect ending to a flawless meal.
The service was warm and welcoming, the wine selection was excellent, and the entire experience was nothing short of amazing. If you’re looking for authentic French cuisine in Sanibel, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for weeks, and I’m sorry to have put it off!
My husband and I spent a quiet Thanksgiving together on Sanibel and decided to go out to dinner. Everywhere we tried was booked or closed (totally on us). I finally found Blue Rendezvous, and it seemed romantic and lovely. I’m so glad we found it!
From the start, it felt like walking into a little neighborhood bistro. The hostess/owner was SO kind and accommodating. Being New Englanders, we weren’t afraid of the “cold” (it was in the high 60s…) so we opted to sit outside. We were the only ones out there as we had a later reservation, and it was perfect. The hostess turned the music on and made our little spot so perfect.
When a family with very young children sat down and complained about the service being slow (they had no reservations on a major holiday on a small island, and I was honestly embarrassed at how they were treating the staff), the staff rushed to accommodate their last minute request. The family was not pleased, and left in a hurry; fine by us! The staff clearly felt badly, but they did everything they could, and frankly more, to help these folks who were really not being very gracious. As a business owner and someone who worked in restaurants for a long time, they handled it with grace.
Our waitress was amazing, and had the best suggestions! We both went for the prix fixe menu. Every single thing was delicious, from the French onion soup to the beef bourguignon that tasted exactly how my grandmother made it. The cocktails and wine were the perfect complement, and the crème brûlée was some of the best we’ve ever had!
If you’re on Sanibel, do not miss out on this newer restaurant! The service, food, and experience were 10/10, and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Incredible that in all of Florida we find the best French restaurant on Sanibel island. Best beef bourguignon outside of Paris, delicious onion soup, incredible wines and truly French creme brulee. Family run, romantic yet family friendly atmosphere just an adorable bistro! Thank you for the amazing dinner and thank you Chelsea!!
