We wanted to like this place, really. We are sad that it didn’t live up to our expectations. We waited a long time for everything as well. First of all, the cocktails were amazing. We really wanted to say the same for the food. We ordered oysters, which were good, but hot sauce in a packet? Kind of tacky. The bone marrow tartare sounded good but the portions were wrong. Too much bread and not the good kind. The tomato app was good but the tomatoes were cut weird and awkward. Didn’t look nice. We split the lamb schnitzel and we got one barely cooked, almost raw, medium rare, then over cooked. 3 different cooks on one order we shared. It was not worth 40 dollars! It was also very bland. No seasoning at all on the crust. The ube tres leche was very good. The crème brûlée was wrong. Missing sugar and tastes eggy. We will not be going back. Little things add up and just not worth spending over 200 dollars for just okay food.

Date night Al the Bleu Duck Kitchen was a perfect way to spend our evening! We enjoyed amazing food, wine, and ambiance! Everything from the fresh oysters (3 kinds) to crispy duck appetizer to entrees to the crepe cake dessert were thoroughly enjoyed! We’ll be back!

We held our wedding reception here in May 2025 and it was wonderful! The event coordinator, Leah, was so helpful, professional, and responsive throughout the planning process and she really made the whole evening run like clockwork! Our guests raved about the food (of course!) and we loved the variety of menu options from the hors d’oeuvres to the desserts. Everything felt so bespoke and special for our reception without it being too overwhelming to plan for (thanks to Leah’s ample event experience). Highly recommend holding events here for anyone else looking to impress!

We also enjoy dining here for date nights (in the front of the restaurant or the bar) and it never disappoints 🙂

This restaurant is exceptional! Visiting from out of town, came on a Tues for their date night special. 2 entrees, bottle of wine, and dessert for $65. Great value! Everything from the service to the meal was impeccable. My steelhead trout was best I’ve ever had, my husband’s steak was cooked perfectly. The creme brule was the perfect ending to the meal. The white wine was crisp, refreshing, and a perfect pairing . So impressed with Bleu Duck, we can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend.

The Bleu Duck Kitchen was an absolutely delightful discovery last night. My hubby and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary by visiting this quiet (on a Monday night), bougie eatery here in downtown Rochester. We ordered appetizers, seconds, mains, and dessert along with delicious home-brewed root beer with delightful caramel after tones. All that for two, so the bill with hefty tip was $220 without alcohol. Pricey. An indulgence. But we’ve found our new annual splurge celebration place!

My wife and I went to Bleu Duck recently for our anniversary. Our server, Nicki, was the best server I have had at a restaurant in decades. She was personable and engaging, exceptionally knowledgable about each dish, gave us details beyond the menu to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. Drinks were never empty, and she checked to make sure everything was to our expectations. When my wife’s drink wasn’t what she was expecting, an alternative was provided. Every reach was met with a “pardon my reach”, she asked before taking any plate away… it was absolutely wonderful. The food was very good– my wife in particular enjoyed her foie gras, roasted cabbage, and salmon. My food was more than acceptable, though not as sublime as she found hers. The prices were higher than my usual fare, but the service in particular was so next-level, I’ll happily return next time I’m in Rochester.

Went to the Bleu Dock tonight and were disappointed. Neither of the wines I had wine were up to par. And the menu wasn’t what I’d previously seen—it keeps changing—so beware if you see something you like and hope it’s still there. The choices are way too eclectic and out of the ordinary. If you like that kind of thing, maybe it’s for you. But I like consistency. We both had the duck tacos, supposedly the best thing on the menu. But neither of us would order it again. The French Onion Soup, however, was good. But we won’t be going back.

Great restaurant! I popped in here a little after 7pm on a Friday night and managed to find a single available seat at the bar. I ordered a mixed drink while I scanned the menu. First, the drink was great – I met the bartender who created the current cocktail menu and he explained his inspiration for the drink and was very friendly. I enjoyed talking with him. Second, I was overwhelmed with the menu, there were so many things I wanted to try, but I decided on the Greens Salad, and took a recommendation from the other bartender and ordered the duck as my entreé. Both the salad and the duck were delicious and I finished every bite of both dishes. The restaurant didn’t feel crowded even though it was full and it wasn’t loud inside, you could easily talk with the person next to you. If you’re in the area, this is a great place to try for dinner.

This place is a must try if you want to splurge. I was up here with my daughter at Mayo Clinic and she’s a foodie. I saved this for our last night so she had something to look forward to through all of her appointments.

Darren, or server, was top notch. He knew all about the menu and was right there when needed while giving you space to enjoy.

The bone marrow was good, as we’ve never had it before. The carrot salad was a flavor combination that had you wanting more and us talking about how to re-create it at home. Her steak with lobster fried rice was outstanding as was the pork shank.

And we loved the desserts of the Ube Tres leches and the 16 layer crepe with orange mascarpone, that brought you back to your childhood of eating dreamsicles.

I highly recommend this if you want a special treat for the week.

Definitely one of the best places to eat in Rochester! The food, drinks, and atmosphere are fantastic!! Everything is as good as it gets! Great place for a date night or just any night. The pork tenderloin was excellent, as were the curated cocktails. Corbin, the bar manager, has created these cocktails and is a bonefide mixologist and overall excellent human- Corbin’s cocktails, knowledge, recommendations, and personable nature is second to none. This is a must do in Rochester.

Easy walking distance from downtown Mayo Clinic, and a 2-minute, $2 bus ride from the St Mary’s campus, or a 22-25-minute easy walk.
