The food at Blend Astoria was really good, and the place itself has a warm, family-friendly vibe. However, the service — from the moment we arrived at the entrance to the table experience — could use some improvement.
At first, we weren’t allowed to sit until our whole group was there, which is understandable, but once everyone arrived, the food still took quite a while to be served, even after waiting for two more guests. The staff wasn’t rude, but overall their attitude felt a bit too serious and not as welcoming as expected.
It was still a good experience overall — tasty food, pleasant ambiance, but the service could definitely be smoother and more attentive from start to finish.

We were given a private room, the food was delicious, and the menu was even personalized for us.
Thank you so much to Savannah and the entire staff for your outstanding service and attention. You truly turned a stressful situation into a wonderful experience.
We ordered margaritas, calamari, tacos, steak & fries, and chicken with rice and beans, and everything came out fresh, hot, and flavorful. The margaritas were strong (in the best way) and paired perfectly with the food. The calamari was crispy, tacos were packed with flavor, and the chicken with rice and beans gave real comfort food energy.
They also have great deals like happy hour and bottomless options which makes it perfect for brunch, date night, or a girls night out. Definitely a spot I would come back to.
Could have had over 10 more drinks if service was there. Had empty glasses throughout the time spent. Food quality was great, the portions however were tiny. But the quality made up. Ordered appetizers entre and more apps, but still left hungry. The help service was great, clearing plates , but the service for taking orders was slow, and not overall friendly
To start, the “live entertainment” that was advertised was not live at all. It appeared that someone simply connected a phone via Bluetooth and played music. That was very disappointing, especially since live entertainment was part of what justified the Valentine’s Day pricing.
For the appetizer, we ordered the crispy arepas. Normally, when dining here on a regular day, they serve three arepas. However, for this special prix-fixe menu, we were only given two. It was surprising to receive a smaller portion on a night when we were paying significantly more than usual. The food itself tasted good, but the portion sizes did not reflect the elevated holiday price. For $90 per person, I expected either larger portions or something more elevated than the standard menu.
Additionally, my husband purchased the $20 assorted chocolate add-on. What we received was a small tin heart with three artificial pink roses and four chocolates that honestly looked like something you could buy at a discount store for a fraction of the price. It did not feel worth $20 at all.
Overall, the experience did not justify the cost. While the food was good, the reduced portions, lack of promised live entertainment, and underwhelming add-ons made this Valentine’s Day dinner very disappointing. I truly expected more for what we paid.
