Very disappointing experience at the Gig Harbor Blazing Onion. We ordered pickle chips, onion petals, mandarin salad, kids chicken strips, and a ranch hand burger with spicy fries. The pickle chips were so salty they were inedible and had to be sent back. The onion petals were burnt, and the fries were extremely over-seasoned — there were literal tablespoons of seasoning dumped onto the plate. The mandarin salad was mediocre and overpriced, though the kids chicken strips were good. Unfortunately, the grapes with the kids meal were overripe and some were rotten.

The manager refunded the pickles initially, which we appreciated. However, when we raised the issue with the fries, his attitude completely changed and was very passive, stating, “The fries are supposed to be like that.” The shift in his attitude between the first and second interaction was jarring and unprofessional.

We also paid cash and were not given a receipt. Overall, a very upsetting experience, especially for the price. We won’t be returning.

Great for burgers, but not fish and chips.
We enjoyed the friendly people working here. They took good care of us though it was busy.
My friends burger and fries were good. I enjoyed the French onion soup… But the fish and chips… The fish was bad. It was mostly batter and overcooked to boot. I am not sensitive to grease but these were oil soaked.
I’ll return for anything but the fish!

I wish I remembered names, but the young man at the front counter was extremely friendly, he also checked up on us a couple times after our food arrived to make sure we were doing good.

The manager (I think) was awesome. Very friendly gentleman. Recommended the po boy sandwich (was very good), and came to check on us as well.

Food was fantastic as always. Just a very rare experience as far as food, and service that you just don’t get anymore going out places. Thank you all very much

Absolutely delicious! Stopped here on a Friday night before a movie. It was crowded but I was seated quickly. My service was amazing and food and drinks came quickly. It was $34 for 1 person so a bit on the pricier side but it was worth it. Will definitely come back if I’m in GH again

Great burgers! I had the mac attack burger with macaroni and cheese. It was really good and flavorful. The fries were well seasoned and hot and the beer was cold.

We got in on a late Saturday afternoon around 5:00, just ahead of the crowds. We were seated, and our orders were taken promptly. The food was delivered in a timely manner. The salad was fresh with crisp greens and the bottomless fries were very good – not overly salted or seasoned. We were given a couple dipping sauces to accompany the fries as well. Burger dip was done well. The bun was soft with toasted edges and the grilled onions added a nice bite. Service slowed a little as they got busier and we had to flag someone down to get our check, but they had someone call out sick, so we understood. Lots of TVs showing postseason baseball and college football. Overall, it was a great experience.

This Blazin Onion is absolutely amazing! Great atmosphere great food great staff! And Carlos the manager is the best! Always friendly, always checking up on the customers making sure everyone is satisfied! This is my #1 spot in Gig harbor for beer and some food!

My wife and daughter ordered turkey burgers and they were mush like “paste” inside. The manager explained that they used panko as a binder and that is why they were like that. My family uses ground turkey alot and makes burgers with turkey and we don’t need to use binders to make them. The manager completely disregarded the fact the inside of the burgers were literally mush and that was just the “way it is”. For a business to use such cheap turkey or that is just what they do to make there burgers they should let people know that when they order. It was disgusting and unedible. This was the first time in years that we have visited this establishment, the last 2 times we were there were disgusting as well and the service was poor. We will not ever recommend this to anyone we know and will never be back. 6 orders of food and tip $170 spent could have got a better burger at McDonald’s. The music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation, friendly environment but loud to enjoy the company of others.

Blazing Onion (Gig Harbor) needs immediate management review!

The noise level was so extreme we had to cover our ears and scream just to order (I had to put my daughter’s headphones on my toddler). Even our waitress acknowledged it and asked the manager to turn it down. He refused and responded with open hostility—right in front of my children (my 21 year old who works w/customers daily was even shocked & offended by this manager).
More concerning: I personally witnessed the manager handling all plates and to-go boxes with his bare greasy hands, sticking his fingers directly into all to go boxes. No gloves. No sanitation. This is a serious health code issue.
When my daughter’s plain cheeseburger was made incorrectly, the manager argued with me, then clearly just scraped toppings off instead of remaking it. Completely unacceptable.
I paid $100 for a couple of dry burgers, stale/old salad, unsafe food handling, and a manager who was rude, dismissive, egotistical & highly unprofessional. We threw the food away because we did not feel safe eating it.
This location has become a liability. It started going downhill a couple of years ago & that’s why we stopped going, but tonight’s events were a reminder to NEVER go here again (unless maybe new management). I expect this behavior, especially the unsanitary food handling to be addressed immediately. Corporate should take this seriously before someone gets sick! The manager needs a reality check, “Don’t be in that line of work if you can’t handle it”!

Patrons 21+ get a menu/table service. If you’re under 21, you order at the counter (when you walk in) from the overhead menu and your food is brought out to your table. So basically, fast-food style but the food is “sit down” quality. There is a call button system you can use to get wait staff to your table.
Although the food was tasty, it was about $80 for 3 people so I think its a bit pricey. I had an entree salad, my son & husband had a hamburger. We had 1 soda, 2 waters and 1 moz. stick appetizer.
