Tasty option for halal NYC-style platters that do include lamb.
No doubt about it, New York City and its halal carts are to blame for those times I get a craving for “chicken and rice”. So last night we looked for ones around the area and stumbled onto this place that has been open for just a year.
We each ordered their NYC style mixed platter which includes rice, salad, and a mix of chicken and lamb. This was nice to see because the older style Halal Guys in NYC used to have lamb and we have fond memories of those $6 platters, served piping hot and with truly diabolical hot sauce. Sadly evolved to its current and somewhat neutered form of beef and standardized packeted hot sauce.
Blazin Kabob doesn’t seem to have their own house hot sauce, but some more watery red sauce. I don’t have commentary on their white sauce beyond it being ok. And they do have a green sauce which I know many people tend to like, but which wasn’t too standout for me.
Ultimately I thought their platters were decent for the price. Good quantity, my gut didn’t feel terrible after, close enough, and not crazy expensive.
It probably would’ve been slightly nicer experience if they played some music inside but maybe that was part of the vibe!
I’d visit again, though perhaps after trying other local spots that look tempting.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and it was really good. The lamb gyros and falafel gyros were fresh and delicious. They were not stingy with the fillings at all. The french fries and mint lemonade slushie were also very good. Prices were very fair. Definitely give this mom and pop shop a try!

Blazin Kebobs does not miss. The halal chicken platter over rice is absolutely banging — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and loaded. Add a side of fries and it’s game over. Flavor on point every time.

Blazin Kabob is absolutely amazing! We tried their Avani Palao, lamb chops, and kebabs, and everything was spot on. The meat was juicy, tender, and full of flavor, while the rice was perfectly cooked and so delicious. If you’re looking for real, authentic Afghani food, this is the place to come. The quality, taste, and experience are unmatched—I’ll definitely be coming back!

That had to be the most incredible NY style lamb salad I have ever eaten. Everything was so fresh, the salad had everything included and sliced perfectly I absolutely loved the added touch of chickpea and banana peppers, the sauces were just as incredible. You HAVE TO get the mint lemonade so so good I cannot wait to go back!!

Tried Blazin Kabobs for the first time tonight and it was delicious. I got the lamb and chicken over rice and it was super flavorful, especially with the white and red sauces… next time I’m definitely asking for extra sauce because it was that good. Portions were generous, prices were affordable, and everything tasted fresh. This was my first time trying Afghan food and I was really impressed. Will absolutely be back!

Best Afghan restaurant in the area. The food was very very fresh and marinated to perfection. The prices were affordable for the food that was given and the wings are for sure the best halal wings in the area. I highly recommend checking out this spot!

Amazing food…. great customer service … the owner treated us so well… i got lamb pulao .. it was delicious freshly made … and finish it off i got qawa to wash it down.. that was also tasty and authentic tasting !! Highly recommend this spot!
