This restaurant was awesome! We went here during our family vacation and were treated very well by the staff. Our server was kind and helpful, and the food was all delicious and drinks unique and delicious. The environment is fun, warm, and welcoming. Wonderful spot and in a great town. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: The owner has since responded; however, many of the concerns—particularly food quality and the digestive distress that followed—only became apparent after the visit, and repeatedly interrupting a birthday dinner to troubleshoot with management would have further disrupted the celebration.
We hoped for an enjoyable birthday dinner, but the experience fell well short—especially for the price.
Our visit to Blaze Brewing in Blue Hill on December 13 was disappointing and concerning.
Service lacked attention to detail despite the restaurant not being busy. Glasses arrived spotty, and a $14 glass of wine smelled of chlorine. We had to ask for plates for a shared appetizer, as well as salt and pepper for the table.
Food quality was inconsistent. The Caesar salad was soggy, overdressed, and heavy on vinegar. The steak contained a lot of gristle, and the mushroom/beef gravy had the taste and texture of a commercial product rather than something house-made. Fries were overdone and served in a small portion.
Most concerning, all four of us experienced stomach discomfort and digestive distress within a short time after the meal.
At this price point, we expected better execution and greater care. We hope these issues are taken seriously.

Very cool place! There is a dining area overlooking the rushing river and an outdoor beer garden. We enjoyed the raw oysters with blueberry vinaigrette. Spicy fish tacos were so tender and the breading was really light- so good. The mushroom swiss burger was good, but nothing that stood out. I loved the big duck fat french fries. Non-alcoholic beer was nice and my friend has the seasonal pumpkin spice espresso martini and she likes it. Can’t wait to go when the weather warms up next spring and sit outside! Another visit to Blaze for pizza, dirty martinis and a beer flight. Both pizzas were excellent and I really enjoyed the variety of beers. Thanks bartender for tons of olives as requested too!

Great atmosphere with good pizza and fish and chips. Live music and outdoor seating are very nice. The lower level has a bar and area overlooking a stream. Friendly and prompt service! Hope to return.

This was my first experience dining here and I really enjoyed it. Everyone was friendly and courteous. Service was fast and on point. I tried the fish tacos and they were to die for! Definitely would get them again but their entire menu looks very creative and lots of fun. Looking forward to my return and trying out something different!

I had high hopes for this place because Ive tried blaze Bangor and was very satisfied there, so we tried the Blue Hill location.
We had poutine and mussels for appetizers.
Poutine was okay, the fries were soggy with not much cheese. The mussels were very very acidic and didn’t need the tomatoes. The mussels didn’t have the beards removed and had many pebbles, I had to spit out several. The lobster chowder was good.
The strawberry lemonade was so strong it tasted like straight syrup, bu5 I was able to water it down and it was delicious afterward. The steak frites, I wish I had asked the price before ordering, I did not expect more than $60. The fries were again, limp and sad. I ate a few bites and boxed the rest of it up.
Overall, would not return.

This is a fun little spot with great atmosphere. The service was nice but a little slow. The food and cocktails ranged from “pretty good” to “Amazing”. Fried brussel sprouts were amazing, and so was the cocktail Foggy Bottom. They didn’t seem to have much for gluten free options. I got the Steak Taco but didn’t notice the tortilla wasn’t a plain corn tortilla. The fried fish was pretty good and some of the pieces were absolutely huge. Just needed multiple vinegar. The brisket sandwich was pretty good, it seemed more like a pot roast cut with BBQ sauce. We are planning to come back for more cocktails.

Wish we had stumbled on this spot sooner in our trip! AWESOME outdoor space with a babbling creek running next to your table on the lower deck – it felt like lunch in paradise! We tried IPA flights, a couple fun cocktails/mocktails, the poutine was VERY good. Pizzas were decent, most of the meat was cooked well (honestly the chicken wings were nuked, hopefully that was just a one-off oops), the dipping sauces were good. I got the steak frites and honestly didn’t know what to do with a slab of meat that big. Wish it had been sliced over the fries or something. It was cooked well, though. Came back a second time for a quick beer on the main patio – this was more casual, upbeat tiki bar vibes with huge fire pits.

First of all our server sucked!!! She wasn’t pleasant at all! The food was horrible! We all ordered pizzas and they were not done at all. We ordered drinks and the bartender couldn’t even make a Long Island! Then we got dessert and the plates were all chipped so bad we had to wonder if it was in the food. We pointed it out to our server and she could care less. We used to love it but it’s gone down hill bad. We drove an hour to get there and we are sorry we did!

This is a cool little spot in beautiful Blue Hill. We just stopped in for a drink. We sat in the small lower patio right next to the babbling brook which fed straight into the Mt. Desert Narrows across the street. We ordered a cider and a beer. The server may have also been the bartender. We were there at a weird time of day. There were not many customers at the time. He was the friendliest and coolest server of the week. Three cheers for that. The drinks were cold and tasty. We decided to have some oysters and I’m glad we did. The oysters were super fresh and clean tasting, great texture. I quite possibly may never eat another Gulf (of Mexico) oyster in my life. I’d definitely return to this place.
