I love exploring new restaurants, and although i’m not a fan of BBQ, I gave Blatch’s a try. It’s not my cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean that this place is not good. It’s just not for me.
I ordered the “Korean Wrap Star” w/ the poblano dill potato salad and the “Nacho Libre.” The KWS lacked Asian flavors it was bland. The flavors were not there, but the Nacho Libre was good. I loved the nacho cheeze and the toppings.
I wish the sauces for the proteins were an option on the side so we can control how much sauce we put on our food. Please keep in mind that restaurants don’t have to accommodate everyone and their likes and tastes. They prepare food how they want. This is my honest opinion. I love what their doing here, and I will always support small businesses.
Overall, great service, fantastic customer service, and I’m digging the ambiance, so if you LOVE vegan BBQ, stop by Blatch’s and give them a try.

Vegan, vegetarian, omnivore… no matter who you are, if you love good food & good people, you have to try this place.
Everything that comes out of their kitchen is crafted expertly, the flavors are insane & it comes from their careful attention to detail + the creative genius of their processes. If there’s a special, my advice is get it. They do not put something on the menu until they’ve decided it’s worthy. If it’s BBQ day, get some of everything (this is honestly my best tip for dining here). DO NOT SLEEP ON THEIR HOT SAUCES. (All of them). If you eat meat, I can assure you, you will not miss it in whatever you get. They choose fresh, local, healthy, top quality ingredients and carefully prepare them over days (some ingredients months!) or however long it takes to get it perfect.
Chris & Joy are also two of the most loving humans you could ever possibly meet. They have created a comfortable, homey, loving vibe in the restaurant and the line is always full of folks excited to talk with them. They also frequently help the community & those struggling within it, and are deeply focused on a no~waste approach.

Wow do I owe the person that suggested this place to me a big hug! Absolutely delicious!! There are a lot of different all delicious sounding choices to pick from. From my own meal and from the food I picked off everyone else’s plate at my table so good full of flavor great texture. HUGE portions! I was the only vegetarian in my group of 5 and everyone loved it and everyone wants to go back. Do yourself a favor and try this all vegan food you won’t be disappointed! Supporting a small business is great too!

It’s about time I rated this spot! I talk about it all the time with out of town or non-vegan/vegetarian friends.
Blatch’s is an amazing spot if you’re looking for a meal that will really nourish your stomach and soul. The owner is so passionate about what he does, and he and his wife are both so welcoming. Everything I’ve had there has been wonderful and even my omnivore friends have been super impressed by it. Highly recommend 100/10

I seriously want, no, NEED this place to be open more than a couple days a week. This is the absolute best BBQ place ever. And 100% vegan! All in love for the animals. Always a warm and welcoming environment. The food you can tell is made with love and care. I always leave feeling full and energized. If you love BBQ, this place is a must!

I hope they reopen soon. Blatch’s is my favorite BBQ of all time. Genuinely better than comparable meat based BBQ yet it still has a comparable flavor and texture. Very high protein and overall nutrition. Blatch also does a different special every week when he’s open. I stopped eating meat because it was so good I knew I wouldn’t be missing anything with the BBQ God himself around. -L

Have had a lot of bbq in my life and this is the best Vegan BBQ that I have ever had.

Blatch’s BBQ is such a special gem that we have here in SLC and I cannot recommend it enough! I have been to Blatch’s many times in the past few years and I have a wonderful experience every time. I already have high expectations for the food but it still manages to surpass them. And on top of the great food, the business is run by such warm and welcoming people in Chris and Joy.
If you have not made it to Blatch’s yet, put it on your list immediately!

What a delight!! I purposefully stopped at Blatch’s on a Friday while traveling the country solo, so that I could get my hands on some vegan BBQ. Everything was absolutely delicious! My favorites were definitely the wrap (with Mac n cheese ), the smoked brisket, and the tempeh burnt ends. I also had these orange and maybe peppermint confection filled chocolates that he was selling on behalf of another vendor that were amazing.
I got there before the dinner rush, so I had some time to talk to blanch about my travels. He was very kind and welcoming and even invited me to hang out on the back patio. He topped it all off by bringing me a complimentary order of his wood fired sourdough that was I ended up saving some of it to eat with hummus later. All in all, a great experience and can’t wait to come back to town! ❤️

Not too busy but Chris made sure to give the customer at the ready his full attention. Seemed to know every single customer! The food didn’t make it home, I sat in my car and ate it. Best tacos I’ve had in YEARS! Can’t wait to try the full menu.
