For food, I tried the watermelon salad and it was fresh, light and well-balanced, perfectly dressed and refreshing, not overly sweet.
I also had their signature burger and it delivered. Juicy, flavorful, cooked right and paired well with the fries. It felt like a proper sit-down burger, not greasy, not sloppy, just solid and satisfying.
Overall, Blancos strikes a great balance: good food, good service and a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. It’s an easy spot for a casual lunch, catching up with family, or just enjoying a meal where you can actually enjoy the conversation too. I’d definitely go back.
Very nice. Black owned!
We walked a half mile to get there & were greeted by music, warm reception & DELICIOUS food!
And for those who sleep in late or crave a midday brunch–it lasts until 3pm!
Fabian was our delightful & professional server & made the experience truly lovely.
Thank you Fabian & thank you Blamco’s! I’ll be back for the Signature Blanco’s Burger!
The portions were disappointing and not proportionate to the price paid. The sides were maybe 3oz sides (if that) and the “Turkey Chops” was not what the name suggests. And why it’s plural (“chops”) on the menu is beyond me when I was served ONE fried strip/piece. $28 mind you!!!! Micky D’s, TGI’s, Applebee’s even do WAY better for less. I’ll say it again – One strip/piece!!!
The best description for that single strip/piece of “Turkey Chop” (I wasn’t sure it was Turkey but possibly it was chicken) is that it looked like a fried chicken tender you’d get with an appetizer. And after the meal, I wished I’d gone somewhere and gotten an actual appetizer and saved the money.
$28 for a SINGLE Turkey/Chicken strip, a scoop of “Glory” greens, a scoop of allegedly “garlic” mashed potatoes that looked burnt and with no detectable garlic flavor. And came with maybe 2 tablespoons of gravy – a far-far cry from anything resembling smothered!!
I was NOT expecting one fried “Turkey” tender where nothing on the menu indicated “Fried”. I wouldn’t have ordered it! I dont do fried. But I didnt feel like the hassle of sending it back – not to mention I thought it was a single chicken finger. The menu clearly says slow simmered! It WAS FRIED!
Someone needs to teach the cook, the manager, and update the menu presented to the customer. There is a BIG difference between a fried turkey/chicken finger and something slow simmered! Night and day outcomes. And the “Smothered Turkey” was supposed to come with caramelized onions – they were VERY very absent from my plate.
Overall, it was a meager food truck type portioned meal (maybe you’d get better quantity and quality from a food truck?) and quite disappointing.
The young lady who served us was friendly and professional.
I cannot and will not recommend this place based on my overall experience. While what is listed on the menu appears tempting and tantalizing; the actual deliverable product was a HEAVY disappointment.
My first visit may have been my last!
We experienced several service lapses: my partner’s water didn’t arrive until the food was served, and our server never checked back in after dropping off the plates, making it difficult to request condiments or the check. Additionally, both the beef short rib and salmon skillets were only warm, and the skillets themselves were room temperature. It would’ve been nice to see the service match the great aesthetic at Blanco’s.
Unfortunately, due to the service I don’t think I’m willing to give this spot another try.
