Reviews
1. The Chips and Salsa chip were not hot and as fresh a nachos.
2. The hot sauce was too sweet and not hot.
3. My orders came up before my drinks and food was cold by the time she arrived with drinks.
4. The Shrimp Fajitas were okay but not enough for the 3 tortillas that came with them. They were also a little tough and cold due to issue 3.
5. Tortillas were cold and did not taste homemade.
6. Large security failure. A homeless woman came in and blocked the walk to my table abd gentleman next to me. She was served but did not pay. I guess if this was outside would be great but inside created bad atmosphere. Thus, the 1 rating.
7. The gentleman next to me, that were locals got half off their check because of the homeless person and when I asked for something off was told I was not next to her but she was only 5 feet away causing me great anxiety since saw another homeless person ransack the Hyatt Regency when I arrived the day before.
Finally, this restaurant would probably be 1 star except for the fact that food was okay. The Waitress discrimination on checkout and security issues makes this a no go place for me in the future. Compared to the many other Mexican restaurants I have reviewed this is one of the worst. I think I will stick to San Antonio for Mexican restaurants reviews.
The experience was OUTSTANDING!
I sat at the bar and evwn though the place was very busy, service was great
Indoor and outdoor bar seating, outdoor tables too.
Vibrant atmospere, a little loud due to that but not too loud. Great cocktail menu. Amazing food – fresh and flavorful. Tacos were very generously sized
What I ate:
TACO – GRILLED MAHI: avocado, cilantro lime slaw, chipotle crema, cotija cheese, pico de galo
TACO – CRISPY SWEET POTATO: avocado, queso, chile negra, cotija, pickled onion, cilantro
QUESO: pico, avacado, pico
MARGARITA – JALAPEÑO & PINEAPPLE: ancho reves chili liaueur, habanero bitters
MARGARITA – LAS FRUTAS: blanco tequila, ilegal joven, smashed raspberry & blackberry, cinnamon

We started off with cocktails. We had a mezcalito with smashed orange and cinnamon, and a pina coladda.we followed that up with a tamale with Oaxaca cheese, gelreen onion, sweet corn, and poblanos. The main courses were a green chili smash burger and the short rib machaca enchiladas with charro beans. The tamale was simply one of the best I have ever had, and I have had a lot of tamales, both made from scratch by friends and at restaurants.
However, I have never had Machaca. The description claims it is popular in Arizona and New Mexico but I have never seen it on a menu here, so I decided to give it a try. It was fantastic. They also offer it in a chimichanga, tacos, and burritos.
Service was a little bit slow and some of the staff supporting the waitress (who was excellent) were a little frosty. However it was ridiculously hot out and dodgers fans were pouring into this part of town so it may have been the end of a long day.
I would go here again and try some of their other margaritas, and the burritos.
The sweet potato tacos were absolutely INSANELY delicious!!! I could eat those every single day. A must try and they let you mix and match tacos so you can try more than one. For sides it’s not just the typical rice and beans. Oh no. I got corn which was tasty and the rice. HOLY what. It’s a butter rice with peppers. Talk about take me back to my childhood. It’s sooooo good!!! I cleaned my entire plate good.
Don’t even get me started with the drinks. The bartenders are making magic happen. The drinks were excellent!!! This place must be a whole different kind of vibe at night. A must try and next time I’m in town I’ll definitely be back!
I got the chicken fajitas, we got the “ceviche” as an app, and beers. We got there a little late, and realized that we were the last ones in the restaurant.
Never once did they mention when they were closing/about to close or made us feel like we were holding them up.
Will definitely go back! Highly recommended!!
