I’m going to preface this with we are not seafood lovers and we’re picky because of the texture and smell of frozen seafood. We usually only eat fresh seafood if we’re traveling and on the coast, so Midwest seafood joints usually don’t cut it. So to find seafood this good in Wichita was a real treat ~ we left stuffed, with enough food for another meal, and really happy we found this gem. We were fortunate that we arrived early because the dine-in area is a squash-and-a-squeeze – there are only 5 tables and some are for 2 people. Just a heads up if you’re planning on eating there.

You walk in, you can tell immediately that they enjoy art their whole shop feels like we should be on a pier in Cali. They also made an exception for me. I didn’t know it at the time, (not until I went to look them up), but they shut down at 8:00… I showed up at like 8:05 they didn’t even mention it though. Which means they’re awesome. I had fried pickles, catfish coleslaw, and hush puppies. You could tell that they had been busy throughout the day because their trash can was full, which I’m sure most people would assume is trashy, but in this kind of a restaurant I’d say that’s a sign, “You’re doing things right, and that you’re understaffed.” I will gladly be going back. Everything tastes amazing. Some of the best fried pickles I’ve had in a long time and their catfish tasted so fresh.
I know this is silly , but if you know you know. They even knew to stab holes in the to goes so that their food was still crispy when I got home. This place reminds me of where my grandparents used to take me to go out to eat. Brought back childhood memories how it tasted.

Absolutely phenomenal. Me and my wife are seafood lovers, and no one in Wichita does seafood like Blalock – it isn’t even close. Great food, reasonable pricing, excellent service and great outside seating if you want it. Looks can me deceiving, but trust me, this is the best seafood in Wichita.

Delicious seafood in large quantities. Plenty of options to please a group of people with varied tastes. I usually go for their fried fish and fries, but my girlfriend loves the grilled fish with rice and veggies.

Keep an eye on the specials board. It changes frequently and they are always worth a try.

Each dish is made to order, so expect quality over speed.

Excellent food and staff. If you miss wichita fish co., they still exist here. The gumbo is good, even with a lighter roux it’s really good. Catfish was done right as well. Another hidden gem here if you like seafood. They have a fairly extensive menu, would highly recommend

What i will say is their cajun backed catfish is freaking amazing…didnt.care fo the tuna it was bland. And being from New Orleans the gumbo…naw it more of a shrimp style stew…definitely not gumbo. But overall the the fish is amazing. Wish they would ass more veggies without the cost. But its good.

It’s a tiny building (like an old sonic drive in), so there’s only 5 tables inside.
The cashier is really nice and the food is DELICIOUS. The portions are big. Honestly, it was the best seafood I’ve had in Wichita. The catfish reminds me of what you get down south in Mississippi or Louisiana. They were busy when I went, so definitely call ahead for carry out if you’re in a hurry.

Some of the best fried fish in town. Really enjoyed everything we got which was a lot. Crab cakes we’re really good and flavorful. Everything had just the right amount of salt and breading.

The fried catfish was cooked well, but it was completely unseasoned and very bland. The fries were frozen but acceptable. The coleslaw was disappointing, feeling low-quality and low-effort. I really wanted to like this place.

New name, new location same great fish.
Huge pieces of Catfish coated in corn meal or flour or one of each. Limited seating inside but lots of car parks outside with a few benches to enjoy the summer months. They have a variety of seafood items to choose from, don’t want you to think they just have Catfish just one of my favorites. See ya there.
