The coffee was a bit too strong for my taste, so I asked them to add some milk to make it lighter, and they were happy to do it
Breakfast was amazing, especially the mushrooms… absolutely delicious!
We ended up spending more than two hours there, such a great atmosphere. Definitely one of the best spots to hang out with friends!

Blaktan has been my favourite cafe to dine in at for a couple years now, because of how consistent their amazing service is. They’re very friendly upon entering and are quick to sit you down at the next available table, despite how packed it was originally. I appreciated it a lot.
I usually order from the breakfast menu because I really enjoy their smashed avo on toast. Also I’ve tried many other matcha from other places in the area and Blaktan has been the most consistent at making a very NICE matcha (probably made with love lol).
Also food and drinks were really good, and they have very pretty presentation for your instagram stories x
So if you want to have a nice solo cafe date for yourself, definitely come here!

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine warmth and respect. The staff are incredibly kind, professional, and always happy to help, which makes the entire experience truly exceptional. Eventually checked out this local gem and was so impressed. From the moment you walk in, there’s a great atmosphere, very cozy and inviting. The staff were super polite, taking the time to make recommendations, and the espresso was perfect quality. Easily my new favorite coffee spot.

Oh my!!!! This was hands-down the best breakfast we’ve had in a very long time.
I had the Asian Egg Benedict and… wow. The flavours, the texture, the sweet hint of Asian influence — absolutely unforgettable. Just to keep your taste buds on their toes, they add a pepper mayo, and the combination explodes in your mouth. I honestly can’t wait to come back for it again.
Hubby had the bao, and I couldn’t stop laughing at him groaning with delight at every single bite.
And then… the coffee. Strong, rich, with such depth of flavour — and trust me, we’re coffee snobs. Pairing that perfect coffee with such a mouthwatering breakfast was absolute perfection.
We will definitely be back.

Blacktan Coffee Kitchen is a great spot worth checking out if you’re in north Brisbane. The Asian-inspired menu is creative but still feels thoughtful, and everything we’ve tried has been spot on. Even though it’s in a bit of an odd location, we keep finding ourselves going back and haven’t been let down yet.
The staff are always friendly, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. What really keeps us coming back is the mix of wanting to try something new, and also craving the same dish we loved last time.
It does get pretty busy, so it’s a good idea to book ahead.

My husband and I were looking for a nice brunch spot and I came across Blaktan so we decided to try it out.
We are so glad we did because it was absolutely amazing. I ordered the Okonomiyaki with bulgogi beef and it was fantastic.
My husband ordered the Asian eggs Benny with the Korean BBQ pork and his was equally as delicious. He also said the coffee was really good. The dishes were presented beautifully also.
The staff were lovely and the place was busy but not crazy and our food came out in good time. The table service was a really nice unexpected addition as it’s not usually the case with cafes. Just a really nice atmosphere.
We both agree that we will be making sure that we visit again and keep trying the different dishes they have.
