My husbands order was incorrect the last time (they forgot green chili on a green chili burger and instead of offering to remake it, they gave him a condiment container of green chili) and this time I got egg shell in my burrito.
Also, there’s no trash cans here. For a place where there’s no sit down area, I think one garbage can would be helpful for visitors.
Instead of ordering here, just call into Chili Hills and save yourself a headache.
Food was good but not great. They seem to be cutting back on the amount of green chillies on the burger.
Had to wait a minimum of 20 minutes for them to bring out my order of 2 burgers and onion rings. We were one of 7 cars waiting.
We both had green chili cheese it’s burgers, very good. Nice friendly workers.
I never heard of blake’s before today. But I could smell it across the parking lot. I got a fat guy’s nose for food.
This location is just a drive-through with a small walk-up window. I arrived thirty minutes before closing. I went to the walk-up window and stood there for a while before noticing a sign that said, place your order online.
I placed my order online. Then, ten minutes later, I got my burger. I ordered the lot of burger new mexico style, with onion rings. I would have loved to have ordered a shake. And / or some chili. Maybe even some chili fries. But i’m gonna be spending the night in my truck.
New mexico style means they’re going to cover it with anaheim chilies. (hatch chilies) I know New Mexicans may get upset that I’m calling them Anaheim chilies, but to me, there’s no flavor difference. Some may say it’s because i’ve never had a fresh hatch chili. I would respond by saying they don’t sell fresh hatch chilies at blake’s lotaburger. And if you think they do, someone fooled you into believing a hatch chili is different than an anaheim.
All of that to say, the burger was delicious! 5 stars
The onion rings were very good. Some of them were a little more cooked than others, but they didn’t taste like processed, onion rings. 4 stars
Overall, Blake’s gets 4 1/2 stars. Next time i’m in New Mexico, I will definitely come here again.
