With a rating this high, we had to check out this BBQ joint.
This small place tucked in behind Main Street was charming and smelled so good from the parking lot.
Order at the counter for dining in (just a few tables) or for takeout.
We had the Bourbon Burnt Ends with coleslaw and the Chopped Brisket with the Bourbon Baked Beans. Very moist meat that didn’t even need the choice of BBQ sauces available. The sides were quite good, too.
It was incredibly tasty and I highly recommend.

We ordered the brisket sandwich, Thai chicken taco, and brisket taco. The Thai chicken taco was very flavorful; good seasoning, tender chicken, plenty of sauce. My husband said the brisket was OK.
They don’t have a published menu. You scroll through a menu on a tablet and there are no prices. You have to ask about each item you’re interested in, so I just ordered the first thing that looked good. I was glad there wasn’t a line behind us.

Definitely a great restaurant to stop by and eat BBQ. The Chef uses the Big Green Egg, Kammado Grill, to cook his meats and it adds a next level of flavor. Chef is definitely an OG, puts his love into cooking. Next time I’m driving through, I will stop to eat again. Make sure and try his sauces along with any specials. Locatedoff The beaten path a block off the main street.

Stopped in for lunch while traveling, food was on point! All 3 of us had various tacos, order of tacos comes with 2 & 1 side & we were all stuffed, tasted great & portions were plenty filling! The owner was attentive, kind & very personable. Definitely recommend the pulled brisket & Korean pork belly, flavorful & all ingredients were fresh…the only reason I didn’t give five stars all around is because in general the dining area is a bit small not much natural light, but hey for the space Blackwood Co is definitely using it the best they can! Well worth stopping in & I’d be surprised if it isn’t a local favorite…well done, thanks for your hospitality & delicious lunch!!

Tucked away in downtown Wytheville hides an unsuspecting barbecue restaurant. Locally owned and operated, the menu boasts classic barbecue staples and an assortment of sauces. After being in wytheville for almost a year, we’ve found it hard to find a restaurant we want to return to. This one was the first. We will absolutely be back and we recommend anyone try it out if they’re looking for some good bbq!!!

Went back a year later (5/10/25) and still great tacos.
The Honey Sriracha Chicken Tacos were superb. The place is still growing into a bigger space so it’s not much to look at right now, but the people were friendly, service fast, and the food was great.

Great food! Wonderful service! Definitely worth finding this gem of a restaurant, tucked behind the Paper Clip in Wytheville.
I ordered food to go for my boyfriend who works nights, and they packed it specially deconstructed with the bun wrapped separately in foil so he wouldn’t have a soggy sandwich when he came home! That was such a thoughtful touch! The Bourbon BBQ Beans were delicious, but a bit spicy. The Elote was out of this world! Cold, creamy, with tons of flavor! So good! Coleslaw is really great, too!
I would love for them to be open longer hours, but they’re amazing the hours they are open! You should definitely go check them out!

Five star rating all around. The food was delicious, the service was top notch, the atmosphere was perfect. Yes the entrance may be hard to find at first but the location is spot on… Look for the BBQ/Smoker located just outside the door. Plenty of parking in the parking lots and on the side streets. We tried some of their best selling tacos and were not disappointed. Plenty of other options to choose from. We enjoyed our chat with the owner(s) during and after our meal. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back for more visits!

We got take out on a Saturday. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was really friendly. My man got the pulled pork sandwich and I got the chicken, it was so smokey that we couldn’t even finish it. It left a liquid smoke taste in our mouth even hours later. The photo salad looked good but it was very bland and tasted old. The slaw was edible but not good. We were excited to try this place,but we quickly made a decision to not return.
