My coworker and I gave this place a try after another coworker recommended it. My GPS found it perfectly, but I would have never known it was there had I not been told about it. Located inside the little airport, it has no signs outside or inside. The only way we knew we were in the right spot was due to the diner scent that led us to its door that had a small name decal on it.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were enthralled by the extraordinary and distinctive atmosphere, which even caught my daughter’s imagination.

Made the drive over from Abe Martin Lodge vs eating in Nashville and was pleasantly surprised! Food came our super quick and everything we ordered was soooo good. Their breakfast quiche was delicious and highly recommended.

First time eating here in 34 years of being in columbus. I was pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious. Service was great. We did have about an hour wait time, but we went on a saturday mid-morning, so that was to be expected. It was awesome watching the planes come n go while eating the chicken&noods. I will definitely be back!!!

We really loved this place!! The potatoes were super soft and not super greasy like most places have it. The tomato jam on the smoked chicken bowl was amazing and the grits were wonderful as well and had a nice large texture.

For the second time while looking for a good place to eat. The search has brought us to a local restaurant that is next to our in a local small airport. This time it happened to be blackerby’s hangar 5. It seems like mostly locals in the know come here plus any pilot leaving or arriving stops by to have food since it did have a bit of wait. Once we were seating service was quick and friendly. My fiance and I read the menus and quick ordered we both had the chopper breakfast which was a country fried steak over potatoes, with eggs and gravy plus toast your choice of bread. Mine also came with mushrooms. Food came out super quick after order that it caught by surprise. Piping hot we ate our food while looking out at the view of the airport. We could watch smalls plane land and take off. It was a really awesome experience. We would definitely visit again while visiting Columbus IN.

had awesome service and would’ve given this place 5 stars if the food came out in a timely manner and was actually hot and appetizing when we did finally get it. the scrambled eggs looked atleast an hour old and the omelettes are never actually cooked all the way through so they seem watery. the only thing keeping this restaurant going is the servers and service. we had kim and she was amazing. she’s very attentive and also apologetic for the wait on the food (even though we know it’s not their servers fault). she was running around helping everyone and everything. i noticed all the servers working and not once did i see them just standing around. pretty awesome service but food wait and quality was not good at all.. i’ve been several times and it seems it gets worse and worse each time besides the service.

Excellent food for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of what I ate but it was all delicious. I had fluffy pancakes The size of the plate along with two eggs prepared just as I expected and bacon. Their sweet tea is really good as well. Others in our group had the meatloaf which he said was excellent and was a generous portion, and chicken fried steak which was prepared just the right way with gravy on top. Also had mac & cheese which was tasty but it could’ve been a little cheesier.

Super busy breakfast crowd, but the staff was really well organized. It’s a local hot spot, not just for pilots… Although if your flying in, they have a good pilots lounge. Try the Combo with 1/2 order of French toast. It’s yummy.
