I came to Blackbox Café because their entire menu is gluten-free—a rare and wonderful find for someone with Celiac. The food is excellent; I had a BLT with tomato red pepper soup, and both were delicious. Their baked goods are also a highlight, and I especially enjoyed the white espresso latte.

The staff is very friendly, considerate, and attentive. On our first visit, our server even brought out a bowl of water for our dog without us asking. The café is very dog-friendly, with places to tie up pets on the patio.

The patio itself is lovely, especially in summer, when flowers line the railing. Black cloth shades provide a comfortable amount of cover, making it a great spot to relax outdoors.

Overall, Blackbox Café combines great gluten-free food, thoughtful service, and a welcoming atmosphere for both people and dogs.

Blown away y’all. Amazing atmosphere, really good, friendly service. Crazy good breakfast sandwiches. Actually really good quality tea, for a very good London fog. And very good coffee. And seriously best donuts I’ve had in Colorado. Cool, interesting and fun decor, with words painted on the walls. Best place I’ve been in Pueblo.

I love that everything is gluten free. The lavender Matcha is top notch. Yes it’s more pricy than Starbucks however gluten free items and bake goods are not cheap. The service was phenomenal, the Avacado toasted scrumptious and fresh.

Super cute coffee shop! I popped in after walking some laps at Mineral Palace Park, I’ll definitely stop in more often. Pastries and their savory menu look delicious, iced latte was exactly what I needed! One of the coolest espresso machines I’ve seen!
Indoor and outdoor seating available, staff is super friendly, and vibe is artsy/relaxed.

This cafe has delicious breakfast sandwiches. Order yourself a matcha latte as well. The drink has a nice balance of sweetness. Staff is knowledgeable about celiac. Defined made ordering easy. I did get a strawberry/lemon tart. It’s really good. They do have vegan options.

I have a gluten allergy and the staff was very knowledgeable! I had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to eat since I could eat Everything!! Being gluten free, that doesn’t happen often!! THANK YOU for the delicious breakfast!

I ordered the Jadea bug latte and it quite literally tasted like sweet milk. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwhich and it had bacon in it (I an vegetarian) even though the menu did not list bacon. I asked my drink to be exchanged for a different one and the barista refused. She did however add an extra shot but it was so weak it made no difference. I had high hopes due to the reviews but I was dissapointed.

Unfortunately, just mediocre. I had the pulled pork sandwich. And I guess just like it says, that’s all it was. Some pulled pork on bread. Very mild sauce. Luckily I got some slaw too and put that on, but even the slaw was very mild and not really a slaw, more of a cabbage salad with a vinaigrette drizzle. Slaw needs to sit and absorb and marinade some. I would have loved a pickle and some onion and a small cup of extra BBQ sauce on the side, but no. Just pulled pork and bread.

My partner had the turkey melt and it was worlds better. A proper sandwich! I had a bite and it was much better. Not a lot of the cranberry flavor, but a good sandwich.

The pulled pork was not a $15 sandwich. More like $9, and the turkey was closer but still over priced.

The brownie was actually very good and worth the price.

Honestly may never be back. $50+ for 2 people for lunch and feeling disappointed isn’t worth it.

First three latte flavors ordered were no longer available so I ended up with “violet” Not sure what “violet” is as a flavor. Really missing the old Blackbox. No one knew what a Breve was. I don’t know what kind of milk was used. It was burnt. The breakfast wrap came with chips out of a bag. The scone was undercooked and raw inside. The latte, though I asked for “to go” was in a “for here cup.”

I loved this place. I want very much for it to succeed but I cannot emphasize enough how desperately new owners need to restore it’s former glory.
1. ORGANIC…especially milk and flavors.
2. Homemade or high quality favor options in clean bottles that don’t have sugar encrusted bits and drippings all over them. Remove old labels if you want to reuse bottles.
3. Freshly baked goods…breads and pastries.
4. Easy and simple breakfast and brunch menu items… a great poached egg on avocado toast cannot be that challenging to replicate.
5. Please be well trained behind the counter and if that cannot be acheived then make the menu so minimalist you cannot go wrong.

Simple, refined, basic, and very high quality is what made the original Blackbox superb.

Also…maybe purchase an “hours of operation” sign for the door that is large enough to read and states “OPEN” if you are open. If your parking lot is empty at 8am and people keep driving through…it’s because the sign out front looks like a big dark sharpie “CLOSED” and the rest of it is illegible.

Honestly, I hate to be this hard on ANY business. But it is sincerely because people want this place to succeed. It’s beautiful and in a great location and used to have an amazing menu. I get it is super hard to run a business in Pueblo but this place was amazing and maintaining it is totally possible.
