This little restaurant is a very Quaint what many may call “hoke in the wall” but I must say it’s a Canyon in the Middle of Edgewater! This is an amazing experience in the simplest of foods and it was such a pleasure to visit. The Ramen Noodles in my humble opinion are the best I’ve ever had and so fresh it just changes the experience altogether and I can no longer have Ramen with instant or dried noodles. Black Beard has changed my mind on Ramen and to such a great basis of flavor. The broth has got to be the best I’ve ever had and just need to say that the Black Bear Tonkotsu is divine and a must try. We also had the Chonsu rice bowl with the best flavor ever and a dish I will be having each and every time I visit so to say the least this will not be my only visit as I will be enjoying Ranen for many more yrs to come.

This place was pretty good. We are traveling and wanted to get some ramen and this is a close one to the shop we have back in our home town. At first, the “coldness” of the server threw us off but at the end of it we actually liked the server wasn’t doing the “fake-nice customer service” stuff like usual. It was a new experience that we ended up enjoying. The food was good but unfortunately for my partner, the ramen doesn’t come with an egg already so you have to order it and we didn’t realize until after. Food was tasty and good portion for a smaller person with the regular size and a good portion for a person who can eat a little more getting the larger size. The gyoza on the other hand was so-so. Thank you!

Blackbeard Ramen is a good local ramen place. They have a large parking lot so you don’t have to street park. The tofu bao was very delicious.

If you like spice, you have to try the red curry ramen. It’s my favorite bowl of ramen in all of NJ and NYC

My wife and I tried the tonkotsu ramen and the blackbeard ramen. Both were just okay — nothing that really stood out. The blackbeard ramen had a strong garlic taste, and both bowls were a bit too salty for our preference (probably should’ve asked for less salt). We’ve been searching for a go-to ramen spot in NJ, but this one didn’t quite hit the mark. Overall, an average experience.

Food is amazing! This is my #1 go-to ramen place. I ordered the Tom Yum Ramen, and it had the perfect balance of flavor and spice — not too spicy but full of depth. The broth was rich and satisfying. I also ordered the steamed dumplings, which were soft, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Service was quick, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

I tried the Tonkotsu Blackbeard Ramen and WOW — this place instantly became a favorite. The broth was incredibly rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced… honestly one of the best tonkotsu broths I’ve had anywhere. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and every topping tasted fresh and intentional.
It’s a cozy, small spot with a warm vibe, and even better — they have parking, which is a huge plus in this area. The service was fast and friendly, and you can tell they really take pride in what they serve.

The ramen was ok, but their survice was so bad. We were waiting for food more than 1 hour. After 30 minutes we ordered, they said they missed it and got order again.
We ordered edamame and two ramen. Since edamame is usually cooked fast, we were expecting to have it soon. But we had to wait for this simple food for more than 10 minutes, and nobody checked us while we were waiting until we asked.
And it took another 30 minutes to get ramen while other people who came later than us were getting their ramen.
I understood that they missed the order. But, I was so mad because nobody gave update or cared about us after they recognized their mistakes.
I didn’t want to give any tips, but my kind boyfriend gave it to them.
I would not go there again.

The signature Blackbeard ramen has a fantastic broth the portion for the regular size is generous. The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious. The pork buns and the shrimp dumplings are great starters. Great neighborhood spot

i came here based off of recommendation & it didnt live up to what i expected. there is no richness in the broth. it just seems as if everything is thrown in a bowl together. just not good at all if your really into good ramen or good food. and the meat is very questionable. sad. i was really hoping for a good comforting meal.
