We’re Black Salt Indian Bar & Restaurant, and we’re a premier dining establishment serving Sauk Village, IL, since 2021. We offer all day and night dining and serve a traditional breakfast menu, as well as Mexican and Indian cuisine. From breakfast skillets and pancakes, to tacos and burritos or tandoori and tikka masala, we have something to tantalize your taste buds. Our Indian menu will be served weekly at 1:30 p.m., and at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. First time visit…as we pulled up and got out of the car i could smell the spices and cooking of the food before entering the restaurant, I already was knowing this is going to be a great experience; in the past I ve tasted some indian dishes, so I went with a favorite;Vegetable Samosa appetizer and the Cauliflower Manchurian and then we ordered a variety of new dishes. All were wonderful! Lamb curry, chicken Tikka Marsala with the tomato sauce, the garlic naan bread omg! Check out the pictures I definately suggest this restaurant for fine made to order authentic Indian food, we will be back and I will tell others. Thank you for your service and fine cuisine!

Their food is AMAZING! I love that their menu shows what is gluten free and/or vegan. Their food is full of flavor and was told they use organic ingredients too! I’ve loved every dish I’ve tried, especially the spicy ones! Even my daughter loves their food and she’s a picky toddler!

Came here a little after 8pm on a Friday to eat. We had asked the lady at the front desk where were good places to eat at and she recommended here. I had the goat, my husband had butter chicken and my friend had paneer. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is that the rice isn’t included with the main dishes, like every single other Indian restaurant I have ever been to. So, while the butter chicken was $16.99, it’s really $21.99 because you really need rice with all the gravy/sauce from the curries and that’s an extra $5. All the food was delicious.

I was encouraged by my sister to try Black Salt because I love Indian food, and it’s closer to me than Tinley (20 min drive still). She also told me the food was fresh and delicious. I had a taste for indian on 6/28 so i order half Tandorri chicken and 2 Biryani chicken rice and Garlic Naan I spent $60.47 I’ve had these entrees before so i know how it SHOULD taste, look and smell. My food was the exact opposite of my sister’s experience.
The Tandorri chicken was beyond dry and over cooked. The rice was also dry, sticky, overcooked, and beyond spicy even though I requested no spice for one of them. The chicken inside the rice was minimal and also dry. My husband and I both decided we couldn’t eat it. I went back and forth about calling but decided to the next day after I was unable to sleep because it made me ill. I called Saturday and spoke to the bar manager Erica, explained the above, requested a refund, and advised her i still had the food. She asked me to text her a picture of each food item, and she would call the owner. I also included the receipt. I waited 2 days and never received a response, so i texted her on monday. There was no response. Called on Tuesday, but there was no answer. Text Tuesday afternoon threatening to post a review and received a response that evening advising the owner was supposed to call and there was nothing she could do. I still decided to give the owner another week to reach out before posting a review. Needless to say, the owner did not attempt to call me to discuss or rectify the situation.
If you decide to spend your money at Black Salt, be sure to open your food at the restaurant and taste it before leaving to avoid this happening to you.
To add insult to injury, my bill was $60.47. I paid $61.00, and they attempted to keep my .53 cents change. I had to ask for it. The nerve!

if you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine in the south suburbs then you’ll find it at Black Salt. From the Curry Goat to the Vindaloo Shrimp… If you appreciate spice you’ll appreciate this place all the flavors meld together perfectly…
Service by Shelly and Pader was excellent… if there was one draw back its the charge for using a credit card.. just add the $2.4 in the price… Will definitely be back soon

Ohh my gawddddd this is a hidden gem!!!!!!! One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to this far. The atmosphere is so beautiful from the diamond stitching walls to the contrasting colors it’s such a beautiful setup. Ohh don’t forget the staff that were are all welcoming and open will definitely go again. My portions were beyond large, they were enough to eat to get full and still have enough for lunch tomorrow
