We spent a birthday here and it was lovely!

The drive in was scenic and stunning. I wish we weren’t in a rush, because the drive in and out of the restaurant wouldn’t have been as stressful. The unpaved road does get a bit rocky but otherwise is fine.

The service was really lovely, our server Orion was really kind and attentive. I have some pretty extreme dietary restrictions and so they did their best to accommodate and check in with the chef and did many back and forths to check in about what was okay for me. Orion never made me feel a nuisance so I really appreciated it.

We had the nachos, they were alright. Since my food is so restrictive right now, I was only able to have the Utah trout with basically none of the sauce, etc. It came on a plate with just some lemon. My partner ordered and *really* enjoyed the pot roast and said it was cooked well and tasted immaculate. Though my trout was quite bare, it was delicious and perfectly cooked.

The views were incredible and stunning. All of the staff was really generous and happily took some photos for the folks dining in.

I think that this was a lovely experience, I wish we weren’t on such a time crunch but was a nice addition to our trip. I also really wished that they could have comped part of the trout meal as it was $47 for a very small cut with none of the extra things the dish comes with!

This is a well hidden gem, but described on Google as a casual restaurant with an informal atmosphere. It’s actually a farm to table high end dining with a price to match. Definitely came under dressed for this one lol.

Reservations are required so we are lucky we were able to get in.

None of the reviews really mention the ~3.5 mile drive on a very very bumpy road. It doesn’t feel like you’re heading the right way but just keep going!

Vegetarian/vegan options were great! It is a rotating menu though so don’t expect to find the same options (or prices) displayed on google.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at this quiet, scenic restaurant just outside of Zion National Park. Just a few miles off of the main road, Black Sage sits against red bluffs and rugged terrain. We were lucky enough to dine during a quieter evening and had Jessie take amazing care of us. All of her recommendations were spot on and she even made sure we got great pictures to capture the evening.

We have been here a few times at this point and every time I know I can count on amazing food, great drinks, and beautiful atmosphere. The pretzel board is one of our favorites and you’ve got to try the meatloaf! The mashed potatoes are divine! If you’re a cider drinker, order the cider. Fun things to try and Keith is seriously the best waiter.

We dined at black sage as we were staying at Open Sky Zion. With our exquisite stay at Open Sky, we were expecting a similar amazing experience at Black Sage.

Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the food – except the fries, those were awesome! The flavour wasn’t wow-worthy and our tacos and bottom burger bun were soggy. That could have been timing out of the kitchen, but when you’re in a remarkable spot with a pretty high price tag, we were expecting a little more than what we got.

My husband and I have not traveled to Utah before. I was looking for a unique experience and this restaurant delivered! Its a beautiful experience to eat outdoors (or in I imagine) and the food was amazing. I have recommended our friends visit as they enter into Zion this week as well as mentioning it to my colleagues who venture down from Park City at times. If you want a dinner that stands out you are in the middle of a GLAMPING resort. I recommend you take careful note of how to get in and out since the roads are dark and the trip itself is a bit of an adventure. But it actually was pretty easy. So worth it. I especially was delighted to see our waiter was born in Cleveland, Ohio which is where I am from. Small world! This place is WORLD class and unforgettable! Views at the foothills are beautiful too. A perfect way to add to our ZION adventure.

We had such a great experience eating at the Black Sage! Great food, kind staff, Keith took great care of us. I asked for a rose to be on the table for my date and the Red Rose couldn’t have been prettier! It was a perfect night!

I can really recommend this: it’s a unique experience and a nice excuse to dress up after hiking. I saw some reviews saying it’s not a nice view – I disagree – it’s not like Zion canyon but still it’s a very beautiful environment in the background and they created a very cosy, elegant setting. After a week of dining in saloons or on highway stops, this was a breath of fresh air. Our waiter was also very nice and flexible!

We paid $250 for a BIG plate of loaded nachos, 2 main dishes, a bottle of red wine and 2 coffees (taxes & tip included). The food is good – although for the price I wouldn’t call it really fine dining. It’s more elegant and more experimental than the typical American dinner spot, but to us it was not a culinary experience. It was definitely good, just pricey – we had dinners in LA that were cheaper but were of higher quality food. Very big portions though, you won’t go home hungry!

The road to the restaurant is not the easiest: it’s very bumpy. I was happy we made a reservation at 5 pm so we were out before it got dark.
