I loved the cocktails at the bar. We tried a couple apps at the bar. They came out fast and hot. The atmosphere is cozy-great place if it is a cold winter night, or super hot summer night. Service was A+. We will be back!

Stopped in for a cocktail and a bite to eat. This place is fabulous. Great locally sourced cocktails and the food is simply amazing. I was torn between the walleye and lamp chops. Both looked excellent on there way to other tables. I ended up ordering the duck. My first time and what a flavor experience. Lightly crisp outside and tender like a steak. The presentation was first class. Chad, behind the bar, was extremely helpful and his service superior. Will definitely be back. This is a must try for foodies.

We enjoyed the food and creativity at Black Rooster. There were a few technique issues – unleavened brioche on the steak tartare, overcooked pork chop – but overall the flavors were lovely and service was excellent. I loved the cocktail selection and the wines were extremely well-priced and varied. Cool basement atmosphere with a fun painted tin ceiling. Will definitely be back, hoping to see them grow in their creativity and execution. Try it out!

The campfire old fashion is a must try for anyone that drinks! We came in as a group of 11 after hiking and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful! Definitely worth the try for the food, service, and alcohol!

We were finally able to get to the Black Rooster Bistro for dinner!!! Wow….from the moment we walked in and were greeted at the hostess stand, we felt at home. Chad the bartender was very attentive and makes an amazing drink! I highly recommend the new drink…the Hibiscus Happiknees!!! Nicole, our server was top notch and offered her recommendations when I asked what her favorite items on the menu were! We were not disappointed with ANY of our menu choices! We started off with appetizers to share….the ricotta dumplings were amazing!!!! We also had the mushroom soup and milk braised pork belly. The flavors in the pork belly were out of this world!!! The sweet corn relish that it was served with was delicious! For dinner we had pork chop with cheddar grits, I ordered my pork chop medium and it was grilled perfectly! I had never tried grits before and I would definitely get them again! The duck breast was also ordered and it was again cooked to perfection and enjoyed very much! The last item for dinner that was ordered was the pan fried walleye. This fish looked so light and flaky and not a lot of batter!!! Everyone enjoyed their dishes that they ordered! Nichole, one of the owners is amazing!!! She really takes pride in what she is doing and visited our table several times to make sure everything was good! She has such a great personality and will do great in the restaurant business!!! Oh and for dessert our server recommended the warm caramel brownie with ice cream…again it didn’t disappoint! I loved the atmosphere and it was really bright and welcoming! We will definitely be back and will also tell our friends about how great everything was! Thanks to everyone for such a great night out with our friends!

You have transformed the old world vibe to brave new world! The chicken breast with leek bread pudding was outstanding. The hubster had the walleye dinner and enjoyed it as well!

Absolutely one of the best food experiences we’ve had. The atmosphere, cocktails and service were all excellent! My wife had the pork chop and I had the fried walleye. Delicious. Try the pork belly starter, it’s great.
