I come here at least once a year, and it’s hands-down my favorite dining experience. Cooking your own steak on a sizzling volcanic rock never gets old—it’s interactive, fun, and the flavor is unbeatable. The prices are incredible for the amount of food you get, and their French onion soup is an absolute must-try. Honestly, everything I’ve ever ordered has been delicious. Be prepared to go home smelling a little smoky, but it’s more than worth it. Just know you’ll leave stuffed and probably rolling out the door!

I’ve tried the cook your own steak on a hot stone years ago on my first visit to Black Rock. It’s fun to try it at least once.
I’ve had several other great meals and drinks since going back several times.
It’s best to go when they’re not so busy or sit in an area away from the bar. It gets so steamy and smokey from everyone cooking on those stones.

I went to order at the bar, a takeout order and all my food is burnt. I even left them a tip and when I got there, it took them 20 minutes to even acknowledge me and take my order. I had to keep asking a young lady can she get their attention? Do not eat here if you’re black

Black Rock Bar & Grill was an incredibly unique place to dine at. We knew it was a steakhouse when we chose to eat here but didn’t realize that you had cook your own steak at the table on a hot stone. It was a very cool experience and the food overall was great!

My meal was overcooked twice! For a $43 dinner and it being known for steak, you’d think they would know how to cook a steak. I ordered this medium rare and it was not cooked correctly. They took it back and I told the waitress to have it cooked rare. 20 minutes later this is what I got. The manager knew and never came to our table 1 time. I’ll never be back, I can have a better steak at my own house!

The hand cut Halal strip was on point. Delicious and cooked perfectly.
Lobster Dip was awesome, but a bit heavy. Mash potatoes was just right. I’m very happy i found this spot. First time. Will definitely return.

Really nice local spot in Michigan. Unique experience of grilling food on a heated rock! But also plenty of variety if you don’t feel like grilling. Servers had excellent recommendations and service was fairly fast. Price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

I have been thinking the stone-cooked steak at Black Rock’s Ann Arbor, MI location for 3 months. On my return trip for work, I had to give this a go and it DID NOT disappoint. Absolute perfection of the steak, potato, and even the salad.
