They have the best brisket ever!! This was my first time visiting this location! It’s really nice inside. The peach cobbler is delicious. I had to get the mac and cheese. It’s always good. The green beans are delicious as well. I like the house dipping sauce the best. This location has better parking and it’s bigger. I think this location has the best food. The service was great! They were all very friendly. I do think the prices could be better. Everything is a la carte. They do have specials though. I highly recommend and even though it’s about 40 minutes from me, I will return!

Great barbecue, clean place that looks brand new, good service, and good beer. Pretty much all you need from a barbecue restaurant.
We had the ribs, brisket, jalapeño sausage, mac and cheese, collard greens, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and fries. We shared so we could try a good chunk of the menu. Everything came out delicious.
I personally love their “heat” sauce. That one was my favorite. But we all liked different ones, so you should probably try them all before deciding what you are going to use on your food. Overall great experience, especially after spending the day walking at the zoo.

What a great place! The brisket cheese steak was delicious (the brisket was amazingly tender and flavorful) as were the greens and the blackberry cobbler. My wife had the chopped pork sandwich and macaroni and cheese and had nothing but good things to say. The only hiccup was the banana pudding she got. It was ok, but not on a par with the other dishes. The vibe was upscale casual and everything was super clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Honestly, I consider our meal, at $42, to be one of the best deals I’ve found in a long time. Highly recommend!

I am not the type of person to leave a review but here I had to. It was our first time visiting Black Powder Smokehouse. First service was amazing. Everyone was kind and respectful. We ordered the pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwich, both were very tender and filling as well as absolutely delicious. We also got the hush puppies and the mac and cheese that was nothing short of phenomenal. We got the brisket all I gotta say is tendernism. It fell apart and was very tender. If you are looking for a new restaurant to try I most definitely recommend Black Powder Smokehouse.

Food was really good. However the banana pudding taste like Walmart box pudding with whipped cream in top. Not a “traditional’ one for sure. Cashier was little rude, but other than that not a bad experience.

We tried this for the first and last time tonight. ( 2/14/26) We had it delivered. I got the Brisket sandwich, seasoned tots and Banana pudding, wife got BBQ sandwich, seasoned tots and peanut butter pie. All of our food was cold, the Brisket was mostly all fat, the tots were not fresh and tasted awful. I couldn’t eat them and the Banna pudding was a $4.50 cup of Whipped cream. It had no Bannas or Waffers in it. I was very disappointed in all our food. The BBQ was cold and had no slaw on it. The peanut butter pie looked like a pile of chocolate crumbs. No sure why our food was not very good but we will never order from aBlack Powder again. At least our dogs got $45 worth of take out. Very disappointed with all our order.

First time here, but definitely not the last! My wife and I stopped in after hearing several friends say how good it was, and they were not wrong. Dining room was very clean and open, bar was well stocked with a wide variety.
They offer a cafeteria style ordering system, which is getting to be more popular, especially in BBQ restaurants. I choose the ribs, brisket ( fatty side) burnt ends, jalapeno sausage, baked beans, and collards. All of the above was delicious, probably the second best brisket I’ve had in NC, the burnt ends have a little bit of heat which was a pleasant surprise, ribs were also good, and not coated in sauce, which I liked. My wife got ribs, burnt ends, Mac and cheese and blackberry cobbler, all of our sides were really good, and that cobbler topped off the meal, well,outside of the Colorado Kool aid ( Coors Banquet).
If you’re looking for some damn good food and friendly staff, stop by and check them out.

First time here & I tried the brisket. I ask for my half pound in a to go box, but I finished it trying all four bbq sauces. The heat & the mop are my favorites, but all 4 had great flavor. The staff were helpful with my questions & the atmosphere was great for a nice lunch out – causal music playing & a tv to view. I’ll be back soon!
