Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, plenty of seating, has outfit patio for summer months. Buck a shuck takes time to shuck, but well worth the wait. Limits to 2 dozens at a time, keep reordering for more as soon as they arrive! Lobster bisque is worth a try, rich in flavor. Seafood tower was ok. Pasta main dishes were all surprisingly delicious!

My girlfriend has been raving about this place, and we finally made it out here for dinner! Wow, she wasn’t kidding when she said it was the best seafood in town. It’s definitely the best I’ve ever had! We started with the Oyster Rockefeller (I could eat those all day long, they were outstanding!) and then we barely made it through the Hot Seafood Tower. The amount of food was insane, and all of it was delicious. Of course, our waiter (a real funny guy, which helped with the atmosphere) talked us into a Baked Alaska for desert and we left pleasantly stuffed. Expensive? Sure, but worth every dollar!

We went to Black Pearl Windemere for Valentine’s Day. We had a reservation about a month prior to going.
We were greeted at the door and brought to our table immediately. I was more than surprised to see how close the tables were together in the area where we were going to be seated, which was against the side wall.
We ordered some bucket a shuck oysters, which were extremely tiny. For our main meal, we had the kings platter. The food was well presented and delicious. The problem was, the table was so small, our food and beverages could not fit. We had to get rid of our water just to try to make more room. Our plates were hanging off the table, and we were constantly having to reach over our beverages just to eat. The tables next to us were so close, you could not have any type of a private conversation, and we actually had to move the table to get out to go to the washroom.
The service was excellent, and the food was delicious, but the setting and atmosphere were very disappointing, considering we spent $400 there including the tip. We will probably not ever return for that reason.

Right, let’s be honest, the service and food here were just average. Not impressive and certainly not surprising for a seafood restaurant franchise. Four of us ordered lobsters, oysters, drinks and tips for a whopping $800. That’s a lot of money and frankly, it’s ridiculous. We expected better, especially for the $800 bill we paid. We didn’t expect to be treated differently but at least the service should have been above average. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this place because of the poor service. To make matters worse, they put us in a corner table and I didn’t feel the restaurant was busy enough to justify that.

Finally made it to The Black Pearl and my dining experience there did not disappoint. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was fine dining mixed with an old world seafood style restaurant.
I took some clients there on a Monday night and we took advantage of the deal on mussels. We tried the wine sauce and the gorgonzola and both were very tasty. I enjoyed a couple smokey old fashioneds and a smoky pinot grigio that complimented all the seafood nicely.
We then devoured the King’s Platter. I would suggest keeping the garlic butter heated and more lobster on the platter.
For dessert we had some amazing hazelnut cheesecake.

First-ever fine dining experience that left me completely speechless.
THIS WAS SOOO GOOD!
We decided to celebrate New Year’s here, so we booked a dinner reservation. We knew it might take a little longer since it was very busy inside there was a lineup, and the restaurant was almost full.
Our server/bartender was so cool and kind. I absolutely loved their customer service, which I truly value. Overall, I’d still be more than willing to wait even longer just to eat here again!!

A must-stop if you are looking for great seafood in the Edmonton area!! This is our first time at this location and we loved it! The service was above and beyond – friendly, attentive, helpful and accommodating. The food was spectacular – lots of options, including gluten-free. The drinks are fun, and innovative. I recommend their monster Caesar. It’s the largest in Canada, but it comes at a price (however, good value and great bragging rights – of you can finish it). All this, and a great, fun atmosphere. We’ll be back!

Me and my wife went for Valentine’s Day, we had reservations since a month prior. When we arrived 5:00 we were seated at our table. The table was Tiny. We had to move the table so the wife could sit at the other side of it on the bench seat facing outwards because the tables were placed so close together that you couldn’t walk in between. We started off with one beverage each, and 12 buck a shuck oysters, then for our main course we ordered the king’s platter, when it arrived it was the same size as our table with no room for our dinner plates, we had to send away our water glasses and only keep the 2 expensive drinks because of lack of room. The food was delicious, but to be honest there was not even $100 worth of seafood on that platter from the Fresh Food Market ( we buy from the fresh seafood market quite often) the two of us had no problem finishing it, and we aren’t big people. Quality of the food is great but extremely overpriced for what you get. In total we had 1 sangria, 1 ceaser (small one), 12 buck a shuck oysters and the kings platter and the total was $320. Considering it was Valentine’s Day and a special occasion I didn’t mind the price but what I did mind was being given a table that wasn’t big enough for the platter and dinner plates at the same time, being so crammed in I was literaly rubbing elbows with strangers on eather side, unable to have a conversation with my partner without 4 other people hearing. So to be honest dropping $400.00 for a meal with a loud sardine cramped style on Valentine’s Day is not my idea of romance. We could literally eat at The Keg twice together and not be on top of each other like it was there. So overall very disappointed, and I certainly would not waste my money to return there for an atmosphere like that. The service was 5 stars, the food quality 5 stars, what you got for the price 2 stars at best, and atmosphere is one star. Do better!

Our main reason for visiting was to try the famous Sea Monster Caesar — and the presentation did not disappoint! The drink itself was delicious, and the seafood toppings seemed endless. Were they cooked a little too long? Maybe just a touch, but to be fair, getting a full variety of seafood perfectly timed and tender can’t be easy.
The Caesar came loaded with a full Atlantic lobster, crab legs, king prawns, and an oyster, along with all the classic fixings — prosciutto, pickles, olives, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and lime. It was truly an experience and absolutely photo-worthy!
We also ordered the octopus, which had great flavor, though it was a bit overcooked and tougher than we’d hoped. It took quite a while to come out, and we actually had to ask if it was still on the way. To her credit, our server was wonderful — very apologetic, attentive, and quick to check on it for us. She came right back with an update and made sure we were looked after.
One thing we should have done beforehand was call to ask about their oyster selection. Being big oyster fans, we were hoping for a wider variety — something like Malpeque, Lucky Lime, Kusshi, or Kumamoto. They only had two options that day, Black Pearl and Raspberry Point. Both were great (and we certainly enjoyed plenty of them!), but we do like to mix it up a little. Note: Be prepared to pay extra for horseradish, cocktail sauce or mignonette sauce. That was the first for us and caught us off guard.
Overall, we’d definitely consider coming back to give it another go. Next time, we’ll probably try a seafood tower, a bowl of their bisque, and maybe an order of mussels or Digby scallops — I love Digby scallops. The menu is impressive, and there’s still so much more to explore.

First time at this location and everything was phenomenal. From the delicious food to the service to the atmosphere, everything was perfect! The Seafood is amazing and all the sauces compliment all the dishes very well.
The restaurant is a little bit small and they have a patio though. Really nice ambiance. Tons of parking and the food and drinks are phenomenal! Highly recommend will definitely be back.
Pro tip don’t wear brights or whites because eating lobster and crab can get messy. Lol
