Maybe we are just overly picky after reading some of the other reviews, but we drove a little under an hour to get here, and with all the supper clubs closer to us, I would say this was a pretty standard supper club experience.

The staff was extremely pleasant, the drinks were great, and we were served in a timely manner. One very unique feature for us was the literal salad “bar,” which was a fun twist and included with the meal.

Now onto the steaks: the steaks were thick cut, which was great, but ultimately the flavor just wasn’t there for us. We ordered ribeyes (since we aren’t huge fans of prime rib) and were hoping for more seasoning, but it felt a bit lacking.

The clam chowder was delicious, and it looked like all of the soups were homemade.

Plenty of parking even though it was very busy. We ended up being the last party to be seated for dinner this evening, so we were not able to get an Ice Cream after as we were hoping. Old Fashion was delicious with lots of extra cherries. Bloody Mary was good with good garnish. Loved that the salad at the salad bar was made for you. It kinda like going to Subway and telling them what you want on your sub but with a soup and salad bar, very unique. We ordered the whitefish/steak/Perch. Mashed potatoes with bacon as a side. And all soups were really good.
Everyone from staff to patrons were all very nice.

Best supper club I’ve ever been to. Started off with a very positive greeting when we walked in. Every employee was extremely pleasant – seriously! Food was amazing in every way. Had an awesome time celebrating my birthday and came away with some extras. Highly recommend the cajun potato wedges & Cajun broiled haddock. You get what you pay for. We’ll be back!

Went to the Black Otter as one of several supper club stops. Food was good, service was good, but I thought their process took away from the experience of dinner. We went to the bar where we were provided menus and our orders were placed. When a table opened up we were taken back to it and subsequently went to the salad bar. Dinner was subsequently brought out. Missing from the dinner experience was that time when you are initially seated, you pick at a bread tray and relish tray while waiting for salads. Food was good but I didn’t like making the dining experience efficient. Prices were reasonable also.

Their 32oz Queen Cut Prime Rib is unmatched — perfectly cooked, juicy, and so big it practically guarantees a bag of leftovers (enough for two more days of meals!). The Friday fish fry is just as impressive, and the salad bar is fresh, full, and one of the best around. Pair that with their Old Fashions, mixed the way they were meant to be, and you’ll be transported back to simpler times.

Be prepared: if you show up late, you’ll likely wait for a table — but that’s part of the charm. The bar is fully stocked, the atmosphere is warm, and it’s the kind of place where Wisconsin stories are shared freely among friends and strangers alike.

We left with full stomachs, full hearts, and plenty of leftovers. A true Wisconsin gem worth the trip every time.

This place is a gem. They have a fantastic system to get you to your table and get your food as fast as possible. The salad bar is fantastic. My wife and i both enjoyed our sides. The prime rib is the star of the show. It is fantastic and the smallest cut is twice as big as the biggest cut at most supper clubs.

Arrive early or be prepared to wait as this place is is super busy every hour they are open.  Big bar with seating to relax in while waiting for a table/server.  Prime Rib is amazing but there is so much more on the menu too!  Love the BBQ Ribs.  I am not big on seafood but have heard from others in our party it is very good seafood for the area. Would not order the mushrooms for any steak – no seasoning, tasted like canned.  They butterfly the tenderloin without telling you! still delicious but next time we will request they not do that! Midweek special the smothered chicken is very tasty. Clam chowder soup very good with chunks of potato.
Delicious Hot bacon dressing available at salad bar but have to ask for it because it is plugged in by the soups.  Really tell them how much you want or they pile the salad plate to overflowing.  We never order appetizers because the entree portions and salad bar are always more than enough. Bartender Sarah is great and knows the menu for any questions. Waitress Sarah so friendly and attentive! Very Highly Recommend!

Black Otter Supper club is Outstanding!!!
Sure, we came on a Saturday at the busiest time and of course that means a wait. However, it was well worth it! The food is phenomenal! Drinks are great and salad bar super! Everyone-from the moment we checked in, to the bartenders, to the salad bar crew. to our waitress, were so welcoming and great at what they do! Despite the crazy, busy atmosphere, everyone had a smile on their face! At the end of the evening, we met the owners Bob & Gerry-wow such nice people!
