Cute little mountain town restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating available. It sounds like most food options are handmade including salad dressings and don’t get me started with desserts! I had the ramen bowl and it was more than I could eat but thankfully my husband is always willing to help out! It was delicious and flavorful. He had the tomato bisque and grilled cheese. He said it was yummy on a cold winters day. We ordered the fried mushrooms to and they were ok. Breading lacked flavor. I don’t usually order dessert but was intrigued by the pineapple coconut cake. My grandma used to make one and it’s my favorite. This was almost identical in taste!! I will atleast stop here for cake the rest of my life!!

Our only dining experience is take out and it did leave a bit to be desired. I may try dining in to see if the experience is better.
My husband stood and waited for a while before being acknowledged. I know they were busy but our food was quite cold so that’s frustrating. However, despite the cold, the fried pickles were still pretty good. Slightly salty but good. I got a chicken wrap with fries. It was okay/basic, nothing to rave about as it was small and had excess tortilla. Unfortunately, the burger was a bit disappointing. The flavor of the burger was off and the mayo on it is not good and I’ve never had a mayo I dislike.

Eh, it was just okay. We walked in the door, unsure if we walked in the right way because there was no greeting. Two ladies on their phones with nothing said.
Finally we get greeted and seated. Server was super friendly and came to accommodate us quickly.
Food was subpar. For what I ordered; hot honey chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, was good .
What my partner got; lemon trout; was sub par. Trout was hot with lots of flavor. Rice was crunchy. Like it was cooked and then over heated in a steam table too long. Veggies were bland.
Cocktails were super good.
We’ve both been in the service industry for 20 years so maybe our expectations are exceeded, but idk.

We went here for the first time for my daughter’s 6th birthday. The staff were so friendly and wished her a happy birthday and let her pick a dessert at the end of our meal which was sweet! The food was delicious! We will be back!

From the begining the experience was amazing. Seating outside by the fireplace was accommodating and very romantic on a chilly evening. Sarah our server was exceptional, funny, personable and knowledgeable. Thier beer and wine selection is vast, we ordered the Ashville brewing IPA they have on tap, we asked for a room temperature glass and it was no issue. I had the shrimp and grits, my bride had the Ramen bowl as well as fried mushrooms for an appetizer, delicious and filling, large portions. We finished the night with a piece of homemade pineapple coconut cake, again you can truly taste the homemade component. Lastly they kindly offer a 10% military discount. Worth the drive to Black Mountain for a romantic top noth meal

We’ve had several good experiences at Black Mountain Bistro. Love the outdoor patio seating, good variety on the menu of food and prices. Not all of the food has hit my spot, but it’s good to find other things to try. The soup and salad was great (tomato basil and egg salad sandwich).

We stopped for lunch. My soup ama sandwich were delicious, and my friend’s salad looked very good as well. The pimento cheese appetizer was fantastic, and generous, too. Our neighbor’s fried green tomatoes and entrees looked fantastic. Nice selection of apps, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. Highly recommend.
