What a great find! Tired of the same old fried food, overpriced drinks establishments, we were excited to find a place that offered upscale food, in a comfortable setting, at reasonable prices. We chose to dine outside, ordered the fish of the day (Redfish) which was prepared just perfectly, and also ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi tacos. Are service was exceptional and we loved how the chef didn’t overseason and cover up the natural flavors of our fish. Simply Delicious and it was a simply beautiful evening. We’ll definitely be back!

Came out for a last minute Sunday brunch date and was able to be sat without a reservation. Our server was great and we loved the food she recommended. It had a very relaxing atmosphere, calm and quiet. I also tried the espresso martini and I was happy to see they use actual espresso shots, which is unfortunately not very common. Overall 10/10 would come again

The food was way too overpriced for the amount of food served and the quality of it, for instance the pasta Alfredo was bitter. I do have to say that the atmosphere is nice. You need reservations if you want to sit inside but the patio is first come first serve, which is what we did. Servers were very friendly.

This was our first time here. It was a great find for sure! We will definitely go back. We had the special: Grilled Redfish on dirty rice with Cajun cream sauce fried crawfish tails on top and served with a side of grilled zucchini and squash. This was the best fish I have had in a long time. This is a great place for date night. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. I had already taken a bite when I took the picture. Sorry NOT sorry!

Our second time here and we decided this place is our favorite! I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the Mahi. Try the Lime in the Coconut drink! Wow!
The atmosphere here is so pleasant. We really enjoy it. We highly recommend and will keep coming back.

I’m not sure why the reviews are mixed, but we had an excellent dining experience at Black Marlin this evening. We began with the flauta appetizer special, accompanied by a pineapple jalapeño margarita, cucumber martinis, and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. For our main course, we enjoyed the scallop pasta, salmon salad, shrimp and grits, and grilled mahi mahi tacos. Everything was cooked to perfection. To finish, we couldn’t resist trying both the signature key lime pie and the strawberry shortcake. The service was outstanding—attentive and professional. I highly recommend Black Marlin and would gladly choose to dine here regularly over the typical fried bar food found at most spots on the island.

This place was amazing! We celebrated a birthday here and the staff were so accommodating and great! They food was on point, steaks were grilled to perfection, the fish and sides were nothing less than delicious. Kyler our waitresses is so amazing and easy to work with and attentive, she deserves a big raise.
A very big Thank you to Ryan and his crew, truly top notch!

Stopped by Black Marlin for dinner this evening… it’s basically a clubhouse-restaurant-bar for a golf course. That’s not a negative, just level setting on what the venue is. It’s very nice, well decorated, very comfortable. The staff is super nice, friendly and gracious, very helpful with the menu.

We started off with a Lemon Drop Martini and a Lemon Berry Mule. Both were good, but very sweet. As a counter-balance we ordered the crab cakes appetizer which was very good. A little more filler than we prefer, but very well-seasoned and pan-fried very well. And the spicy aioli was delicious.

For entrees we followed some of our Yelpers suggestions and tried shrimp and grits and fish and chips. One of the advantages of off-season dining in Port A is that places are not crowded, and food is usually served HOT! That was the case tonight.

Both entrees were just off the stove/out of the fryer, very hot and good. The shrimp and grits had a very creamy sauce, perhaps a bit much for the dish, the shrimp and grits were drowning! LOL The fish and chips were well fried and the sides made everything super tasty.

We had Blue Bell at home so we passed on dessert. We may stop by later this week to try some of the more “lunch” dishes, e.g., fish tacos and the burger. Black Marlin provided a solid dinner tonight, we recommend dinner there, and perhaps lunch too!

Frankly, I expected a better meal for the price I paid. I ordered a seafood plate, which looked and tasted like fast food with a bunch of Frenchfries and deep-fried seafood. Fish, oysters, shrimp, and vegetables seemed fresh but lack flavor.

A friend of mine recommended Black Marlin and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was better than expected after listening to the recommendation. It is not a very big restaurant which I can only assume allows them to provide quality over quantity. And for the prices, you can’t beat it. This is the only restaurant I can remember where the food is a few steps above the price they charge. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a $25-50 per person dining experience with the ability to go well above that, but they do such a fantastic job to where it makes it completely worth it. I left thinking I robbed the place!

If you have younger kids, the Mac’n Cheese is amazing and big enough for two. Just don’t try it, you may not give any to them!
