we visited a few times in the past with friends just for drinks, had never tried the menu.
this time we tried the menu. we ordered boneless wings, two styles, and a southwest chicken sandwich on grilled sourdough, it had fresh chopped Mexican hatch peppers in it. it was really really great. also the boneless wings were well sauced, crispy and they served us with plenty of celery and ranch. it’s hard to find places around here who actually have celery / carrots with their wings.
draft list was local and seasonal. I enjoyed an Oktoberfest and an IPA. prices locally competitive!
but really the thin, crispy, seasoned fries stole the show. im looking forward to trying more of the menu.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Black Lotus Tavern! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. Stella was beyond incredible — attentive, kind, and truly on top of everything. She made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make our visit special.
Honestly, the entire staff was fantastic. You can tell the owners really care about their team, because everyone works so hard and creates such a welcoming atmosphere. That kind of positive environment really shows in the service.
And the food? Absolutely amazing. Everything was flavorful and delicious — even our 8-month-old approved! It’s not often you leave a restaurant already planning your next visit, but this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had.
Thank you to Stella and the whole team for such an awesome experience. We’ll definitely be back!

I like the Brussels sprouts appetizer. If they are busy, staff will eventually get to you or just kindly get up and ask for a menu. They have a pool table, family bingo nights, music and a good menu to chose from. I enjoy the fun atmosphere. Chilly on cold nights.

My girlfriend and I made a reservation to watch Comedy Night. It started at 8:00 and our reservation was for 7:45. We got our food quickly and both enjoyed our meals. My girlfriend got a quesadilla and I got the beef wet burrito. The size of the meal was perfect. We were able to almost finish before the comedians took the stage.
The mix of comedians was great. I enjoyed all four of them. I have a lot of respect for people who go up there. Especially in a little place like Holton. All the comedians did crowd work but non it was over the top. I think all four comedians did a great job and I hope they do another comedy night in the future.
It’s nice to go out and see quality entertainment without driving over a 45 minutes to GR or DT Muskegon.

The red devil burger was amazing! It was not very spicy but had a great flavor. The lotus fries were great! Also tried the chicken wet burrito, that was massive! Next time I might see if they have some jalapeños to spice it up some. Overall would come back and recommend to friends/family. Our server was sweet and attentive.

I went to the black lotus tavern for lunch yesterday. I started out with their amazing Brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Then I ordered a drink with my rodeo burger and it was so amazing. I am very picky about having my burger well don’t and they did it perfect.
Also the owners and staff are such sweet and beautiful people. You should really go check it out for yourselves. I will be back to try more.

Great destination place in the outskirts. Worth the trip from all directions. The food is high quality, far exceeding box or chain restaurants. Bar has a fine feature section with a rotating stock with pleasant finds.
