The owner and staff were awesome! Loved the atmosphere and the friendly conversation. It was not busy when we went in so we decided to sit on the bar side and it was very enjoyable. My husband got the fish tacos and was very pleased. The owner did offer to comp my meal because I wasn’t completely satisfied but I explained that I didn’t want the comp, I just wanted to give my opinion on what they could do to make things even better than they were.
Totally worth checking out!!!

Very friendly and personable staff. Food quality was excellent. They have a wide range too from steak and pasta to burgers and wings all made in house. Atmosphere is interesting as it feels the place was built inside a house. Would go again and recommend to others.

The food is absolutely amazing! Ask specifically for the French onion soup, and the lamb lollipops you will not be disappointed I promise you! Been here many times, being that I used to frequent the lamp post before it fell apart It’s nice to have something here to carry on the tradition. Great food, drinks are priced reasonably and the owner Tommy works the bar perfect. Great bar and atmosphere!!!!

Black Horse has a great family dining atmosphere during the day and a fun bar experience day or night. The staff is very attentive and the food, prices and specials are great. A must if you live in the area or are just passing through.

Went here in a pinch for lunch one day and I’m glad I did – the burgers were among the best I’ve had in the area and the staff was friendly across the board. Subsequent trips have all been the same – it’s a bit of a hidden gem in Middletown.

The food is not very good. Service is fair. No views. Not a romantic setting. I went there a couple times for Thursday night trivia which was fun. Too bad everything the wife and I bought was largely uneaten.
