Black Coffee has become a staple in my Missoula lifestyle—so much so that I even bought a sweatshirt, which says a lot because I’m not usually someone who buys clothing or swag from places unless I’m traveling. And a yellow one at that.
It’s a wonderful little coffee shop that’s truly no frills, tucked into what feels like an old half-warehouse space. They keep things simple—just a few bakery items—but the coffee is absolutely divine and the service is always kind.
The AM Blend is my personal favorite. I only treat myself to one or two café coffees a week outside of what I make at home, and this is almost always where I end up. I genuinely love giving them my business and patronage.

Visited this coffee shop while traveling in our RV. I hear there is a connection to Nbpt MA, where we are from? I bought some instant coffee for the ease of travel and now it’s in my kitchen cabinet at all times. From beans, to instant it’s all good. And the baked goods…omg!

Top notch espresso. These guys know what they’re doing with their roasts. Plus, the reclaimed airplane hangar vibe is really one of a kind. This is Missoula’s must visit coffee shop if you like fresh beans, third wave coffee, and a killer scene. Bonus points for Grist’s pastries. 12/10.

Super disappointing. No pour over despite pictures and the drip coffee I got was the equivalent of hotel coffee. Do not recommend unless you’re going there for the atmosphere which I thought was nice. Pastry was good too.

Loved Black Coffee Roasting in Missoula! We both enjoyed our lattes and even came back about 90 minutes later to buy some beans. The staff were awesome and loved to location and energy of the place. Would definitely come again!

Black Coffee Roasting Co has the cutest, most inviting, and chill atmosphere. It is very clean, has plants, and the fresh air was just lovely! We just got breakfast and coffee to go as we were heading home to WA state, but I’m glad I found this gem. The lattes were good, but average, in my opinion. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and every item looked so good! My husband got a blueberry peach Danish. I didn’t get a picture. It was very tasty, and the flavor combo was on point. My cardamom flavored item ( I forgot exactly what it is called) was crispy on the outside and light and flaky on the inside. It was good, too. I definitely recommend checking it out. I wish I lived closer as I really loved this coffee shop. The vibe was so chill.
