Staff was so rude. Sorry to bother you with an order. Coffee was awful. Stale pastery. Just yuck! Promise won’t return. Highly recommend Thompson Flour Shop. ALSO shop owner doesn’t pay fair wages. Instead choosing to close location in Burlington VT.
Hope Stowe and Morrisville follow.

Black Cap has some of the best coffee in northern VT. The sandwiches and baked goods are absolutely delicious and well prepared. Staff is very friendly. One of my favorite places.

Really tasty and delicious coffee here. Pastry case is full of options too, of all textures, flavors and sugar content. Yum. Plentiful casual seating in two rooms, with a decent smattering of cards, books and other gifting items on display to browse.

The staff here is exceptionally rude and unwelcoming, and the atmosphere is not very friendly. Management lacks warmth, and I’ve witnessed dismissive behavior toward customers. Coffee and food are average, and the WiFi is inconsistent. Customer service could be improved.

Delicious coffee – perfect and tasty black americano – no sugar no cream – that’s how you know it’s good

Ok staff food was decent but not super impressed. Could use some extra flavor or sauce options. Coffee was very good.

A Local Gem – Great Coffee, Even Better Vibe
Black Cap Coffee is hands down one of the best spots in both Morrisville and Stowe for a top-quality coffee and pastry experience. Whether you’re starting your morning or looking for a mid-day treat, they consistently deliver.
The coffee is rich, smooth, and clearly made with care—no burnt aftertaste, just great flavor. Their pastries are fresh, perfectly baked, and hard to resist (especially the croissants and scones!). The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and efficient, even during busy hours.
Both locations have a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stick around—whether to catch up with friends, get a little work done, or just relax with a latte.
If you’re in the area, Black Cap is a must-visit. Quality, consistency, and charm all in one place.

Friendly people and a nice location, but the coffee is terrible. I order a salted caramel latte, and it tasted like it was just black coffee with milk, there was no flavor at all. The only sweetener they had was simple syrup or raw sugar, both of which take at least twice as much as regular sugar to sweeten anything.

This cafe is busy but quick! They can clear a line pretty fast! The coffee is good, and so is the food. We stopped here to fill bottles, and cram some calories before starting another day of bike touring. A perfect stop for the task.
