My family and I visited Black Cap Brewing Company for the first time during the Red Lion Street Fair. When we arrived, it was practically empty, but it quickly filled up with at least six other tables. Despite being the only server on the floor, Dani was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and efficient. You would have never guessed she was juggling so many tables on her own!

The food was fantastic—the brisket and pulled pork were flavorful and tender, and the chicken Caesar wrap was packed with taste. We had such a great first visit and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

We had a group of six visit FSS last night while our kids were over at the Fringe Golf Club. We headed to Black Cap around 7:45 and were seated right away. Our host and servers were incredibly friendly, the drinks were great, and the pricing was surprisingly reasonable when the bill came — overall, an excellent experience.

One small note: as a fellow small business owner, I couldn’t help but notice the team started closing up around 8pm, and the door was locked around 8:15 even though the posted hours said they were open until 9. We saw a few people try to come in and weren’t able to. I mentioned it to our server in case it was unintentional but the door remained locked.

Other than that, we enjoyed everything and will definitely be back.

Clean and open atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the perfect place for a date night or getting some drinks with friends. I tried some beer and cocktails, too, and it was all good. Stop by, support a local business, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve visited about 5-6 times, and unfortunately the service has consistently been poor. It’s understandable on their busier nights, but even on regular evenings the service has been extremely slow—whether it’s ordering food, getting drinks, receiving the check, or asking for anything else. The food is OK but nothing particularly memorable, especially considering the price point. While it is on the expensive side for the portions and what you’re getting for your $, they do offer some specials, which is a nice way to save a bit.

Have been looking forward to the opening for quite some time!!!! The beers were AMAZING! Service was very prompt and kind. Only minor critique was that the bar seats were very uncomfortable we were sliding off the chairs and they were very small. Otherwise SO happy that black cap is finally open! Cannot wait to go back!

Do yourself a favor and get a crush! I normally only see menus feature blueberry frames, but Black Cap has a variety of fruity flavors – the blueberry is my personal Al favorite!

We went on a Friday night and didn’t have an issue getting a table. You can tell it’s a local favorite for friends and families to meet up and enjoy a meal together!

Pulled pork nachos were fantastic! My fiance and I ordered a shareable size, and I wished I hadn’t ordered an entree too. The nachos filled me up (and this is coming from someone that has a big appetite!) My grilled chicken sandwich wasn’t anything noteworthy, but the tater tots that came with it were deliciously crisp and my fiancé enjoyed his smokehouse burger.

We’ll be coming back soon, and I’ll be sure not to order an entree!

Parking is a bit limited, but currently fits the needs of the restaurant. But if more people find out about this hidden gem in Red Lion, they’re going to need additional parking!

My husband and I wanted to try someplace new. We went here on Friday around 5pm and it wasn’t crowded and wasn’t loud. The atmosphere was nice. We ordered a dozen BBQ wings and they were so good. The sauce was nice and thick and it was a sweet BBQ sauce. We also ordered the shareable sized totchos (tater tot nachos). The tater tots were so good and the cheese sauce was mild but also great. We had it topped with brisket as well which was delicious. We had the jalapeños on the side and it had a drizzle of BBQ sauce and sour cream and it was topped with diced tomatoes. I think the totchos were $20 or a little more because of the brisket. Overall, the food was excellent but it was very very pricey.

Last time I was at Black Cap was 2017, beer was good…8 years later and a new location. Beer is still good. Food was amazing, highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and the Brisket egg rolls

Breakfast Brunch with Santa was amazing. The menu was superb with many delightful choices for all palates, including children. 10 adults in our group and our waitress kept up in a very hectic and festive atmosphere. I had the apple, onion and brie tart. Delicious. My entree was the crab cake eggs Benedict. It was amazing to say the least. From the crab meat, the egg, and the hollandaise sauce, a symphony of flavor. Our group made sure the wait staff knew were delighted. We mentioned to the management to please doors of these events and they assured us there will be more to come.

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Mr. Bentley and his wife & family while at Black Cap yesterday. Wonderful, friendly people. Very attentive and happy to help in anyway. Our food was delicious and we will definitely be back again!
