It was my first time trying black bear diner not only was the food good and out quick while it was busy but our waiter Alfredo was great. He was welcoming and set our experience’s mood over the top. Cracking jokes and a positive person overall. Great to see a server that cares.

This location has been good to me. Others not. I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation of the food. It didn’t take a long time to prepare. The food was good. However, my mashed potatoes and the gravy were just barely warmer than room temperature. Still, they were edible and good. The other dishes were good as well.

I loved it! The portions are big and all of the food was delicious. I loved the orange juice was 100% natural!! Food was made in no time. The staff was friendly and the site was very clean.
Take a moment to read their table mats, the owners share their values there and their menu was so cute, looking like a news paper.
A stop not to be missed!!

I went in to get breakfast this morning and Jessica was my lovely server. She was very quick and kind. She was on top of everything; very happy with the service so I will be sure to come back again soon and ask for her. The manager, Abraham, also made sure I was doing okay so overall great service all around. Thank you for a great experience!

Our first experience at Blackbear last night was great! The waitress was very bubbly and made my daughter feel special. The lady at the register was also friendly on our way out. Love the souvenir options, too!
Only reason I’m not giving 5 stares, is because some of our food never came out even though we saw our waitress ask for it several times. Overall, it’s a great place for a family!

Our family (3 teens, 2 adults) went to this diner while doing an activity in the area. The food was pretty good, tho my daughter didn’t care for the pot roast (however she is a picky 15 yo. I thought it was fine). The decor is fun as there are (surprise!) bears everywhere. They waited was nice. I got the patty melt and requested it on sourdough instead of rye. I realize the patties are likely pre-made but it was too small for the bread (which seemed average size). The sweet potato fries were also tasty. Otherwise it was an above average and pleasant dinner.

Disappointed with the service
I went to Black Bear Diner on a Sunday afternoon. While the food was decent—nothing particularly memorable—the service was a real letdown. Our waitress seemed irritated from the start, was very slow, and gave off the vibe that she didn’t want to be there. It took a long time for our food to come out, and no one ever came by to refill our drinks. It wasn’t even that busy, so there really wasn’t any excuse for the lack of attention. I might give it another try someday, but only if I hear the service has improved.

Still a dump. Place is dirty and they can’t even get my order right. I orderd a meat lovers omelet with no sausage and onions. Simple right? Nope!!! As you can see in the pic .. still had sausage, no onions. And where is the meat? As much as I we all have to pay for food these days, how about you get my order right!

The service was fast, too fast. The food was thrown together. I got the BLT and it had two pieces of bacon, 2 small tomato’s and one big Romain piece of lettuce. There was more bread that anything. The bread wasn’t toasted enough and way too flat. The fries were limp and in desperate need of more frying. They tasted ok but didn’t help the situation. My wife got the chicken fried steak breakfast. Steak was good and crispy. The potatoes (homestyle) we not cooked long enough, they had no texture. Seemed they rushed the food out with little care. Pancake she got was a “Bisquick” flavor. Not homemade. The waiter didn’t ask how our food was. I think he knew by how much we ate. The carpet around use was filthy. No one caring to clean. The hostess when paying did ask how everything was and when we told her she simple said she was sorry and we then paid for the meal. No attempt to fix the issue or get a manager involved or anything. VERY DISAPPOINTING! Will likely not come back.

Group of 11. Service was attentive and helpful. Food took awhile and some was cold or just warm when it arrived. Had a large room to ourselves and were not rushed. We were loud and had fun. Probably food was better for a smaller party.
