We got here a little before 11:00am on a Sunday and got seated right away. They have a super large menu, mimosas, but no gluten free bread/toast. The ham steak was super delicious. The eggs Benedict was average, but overall everything we had was great. Also prices are great for the portions.

Better than the average American comfort food diner.

So we got there a bit early but it was a beautiful day outside so we wanted to sit outside. The lovely waitresses unroped all the chairs for us and we had a lavish breakfast with mimosas to die for. Also their baked ipa (dark beer) was absolutely a perfect couple with their biscuits and gravy. And trust me their portions are bear sized! I was happily full and didn’t want to eat for the rest of the day!

We had 2 free meals because our last visit was not great. So we came in to give them a second chance. We decided (and waited till 4 pm) for the prime rib. When we got it, it was cooked perfectly, BUT ice cold. The lovely waitress offered to bring us another piece. (her suggestion) After 45 minutes and several warm ups on our baked potatoes, THAT brown blob is what the cook sent out. (see pic) He told her “if they want it hot, it HAS to be dark” I don’t know what the hell that was but it smelled so gross I couldn’t even have it on the table. And I work in Healthcare and can tolerate some rank stuff. Even the poor waitress was sickened by the smell. She was so nice! She was so embarrassed to even serve that, let alone just our whole experience. And for $29…… NO THANK YOU!!

Good family restaurant. They can cook breakfast, lunches and dinners at business hours. Portions are big and large. They make you full belly. But busy time we were waiting so long. Sometimes don’t go way too busy weekends morning. Restroom is clean crews are kind. Prices are reasonable.

My mom and I shared the Chorizo burrito. It was not as flavorful as I was expecting. It was lacking in taste. Was not impressed with the hash browns much either. The fruit was ripe and yummy.

First ate at a Black Bear Diner many years ago in central Oregon and enjoyed it. Years later, we revisited a Black Bear restaurant as dinner stop after a car club event. The menu choices were plentiful, even for a vegetarian. We had forgotten how generous the portions are. Needless to say, we were quite full (to the point of taking some food home with us) at the conclusion of our meal. Our server was quite pleasant, and the coffee cups were never empty for too long. It was a bit sad that the parking lot was relatively empty. This restaurant should not be overlooked when your taste buds direct you toward a meal of “American comfort food.”

As a first time experience at any black bear diner, I can proudly say I enjoyed my time here. Had gotten the chicken fried steak which was very delicious, not to mention the manageable price. However along with the food, we also had a great server (Hannah). It looked very busy but Hannah had still managed to make serving us such memorable experience. If you haven’t tried black bear then I’d definitely recommend!
