My friend’s omelet was better, but the biscuit was extremely hard and basically inedible. I also ordered an orange juice and it tasted like a bottled brand (Tropicana-style), definitely not fresh.
On the positive side, we came at the right time and were seated immediately, which is rare for a busy Sunday morning. Service moved quickly, and the staff was friendly, but the food quality just wasn’t there.
Based on my experiences at other Black Bear Diners, I truly believe this issue is specific to this location. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’d return to this one.

The chicken tender cobb salad is to DIE for!
I recommend coming here for the salad!
Service was friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Ordered to go. I ordered the cobb salad, but it was a little disappointing. Take out is lower quality and had missing ingredients (like blue cheese and bacon).
I don’t recommend ordering a take out. It was just sad.

I dined in, ordered the same salad. The salad was delicious without a doubt and a lot better than take out, but the amount of it was half the size as my visit on 5/7. The servings are very inconsistent. I’m very confused on what’s going on.
I’ll try again in the future, but a caution to customers — delicious food, but there’s a bit of inconsistencies going on. Will update my review when I go back in.

Dined in. Cobb salad was on point as the first time. My husband and I shared, so this is what it looks like split. My final review is that their salad is good! There was a piece of beard hair in mine… so I recommend their chefs to wear something. I’m not going to be a Karen about it, but it still pretty gross and good at the same time.
Overall, I’d still come back.
It took 20 minutes or a little less for all of our plates to get to the table. My plate consisted of maybe 2 eggs, 2 small sausages, and one big waffle. All of that costed me $17. And here is why I can’t grant BBD a 4. It is just so expensive for what it’s worth. When you take away the service and the atmosphere, their dishes taste no better than any other diner, and the dishes are supposed to be the main thing to look forward too. It doesn’t seem proportionate to price almost everything at over $10 when the quality and the quantity doesn’t match.
Overall, want a cozy and friendly sit-down space to dine with a group on rare occasions? You’ll probably like Black Bear. Want to get full with an actual quality eating experience at a reasonable price? You’re better off going elsewhere. 3/5.
Food was not better than IHOP or Denny’s but the portions were large. First time at a black bear diner, definitely overhyped. Service was a little slow. The staff is definitely nice.
