Decorated with a Yukon ambiance and adorned with bear figurines and statues that live up to it’s name. Flavorful breakfasts, satisfying lunches and wholesome dinners that exceed expectations and resonate with the tastes and textures of home cooking.
Portion sizes are balanced to the prices for most dishes, where some are more generous than others. Highly recommend any omelette and the meat choices provide options for a sensitive stomach. Vegetarian varieties can be ordered, or implemented – as the wait staff are friendly, practical and eager to please. Busy hours will coincide with a mature audience, which contributes to the calm, quiet setting as much as the earth-tone scheme and decoration. Definitely no rush, and server checkups are well timed, rather than invasive.
Saving the best for last, considering the entire operation is based on quality food and attentive service within a minimal wait time, the deserts here are too die for. A value for the price that an old fashioned patriarch / matriarch can appreciate when treating the family without feeling indecisive.
There’s an adorable array of branded Bear merchandise on one wall, serving as a gift shop (handy for long distance family visits).
All in all, a 5 star establishment at a 3 star price.

I’m the Security Specialist in the Camouflage uniform – and I’ve never been treated like less than a valued customer.
Our server, who was also the Hostess, is super friendly and efficient.
The portions have always been HUGE! I usually get the Biscuits & Gravy, but they were just ok this time.
The hashbrowns were delicious, loved the textures of the crispy bits
Leona and Brian keep their teams running smoothly. I usually sit at the counter so I can watch the kitchen and service crews keep the customers fed and happy. The managers step in to help wherever and whenever they can. It’s quite a dance!
Best of all, I only live three minutes away, so I’ve visited often and BBD has been consistently in my ‘favorites’ category!
Sincerely, Robert
Where to start…
My wife ordered their tri-tip steak, with green beans and a house salad. I ordered their Joe’s Hobo omelet with a side of cottage cheese.
My wife ordered her steak medium rare, but it arrived extremely well done and was tough as shoe leather, so we sent it back. The replacement steak was actually medium rare, but it lacked any flavor. Her green beans were, I’m sure, right out of a can, with, maybe, a few tiny pieces of bacon thrown in. Her salad was just some iceburg lettuce with a few bits of carrots. The blue cheese dressing had a little bit of blue cheese flavor, but we could not see any actual pieces of cheese!
My omelet included, among other things, sliced-up link sausage – but it was difficult to identify because it had no flavor whatsoever! The worst part of my omelet was the dirty oil after taste! I’ve worked as a cook in a restaurant, and the taste was indicative of a dirty flat top.
We ordered diet coke with the meal, which was good, but we were never offered any refills!
Overall, we’ll let’s just say that we’ll never go back.
UPDATE: 1/29/2026… The manager, Leona, reached out to my wife and me to find out the facts surrounding our visit. She apologized profusely, explaining that she was on vacation at the time of our visit.
We had a frank discussion of our concerns, and having had worked as a chef many years ago, I am fairly familiar with the issues, and while many of the issues are out of the local manager’s control (brands and quality of the different ingredients corporate controlled), we agreed that there are some opportunities where the manager can work to keep the food and service at as high of a standard as possible.
In the end, she graciously offered to give us a full refund, along with offering to give us a gift card. Within an hour or so of our conversation, we received the refund.
I’ve updated my ratings of the service as well as the ambiance. The server did greet us upon entering the restaurant, and quickly sat us at a booth (with a broken blind) and gave us a menu. The order was correct, except for the discrepancies noted in my original review.
I’ve also updated the ambiance… My original review was primarily aimed at the food quality, and not so much as the restaurant itself. The ambiance is warm, cute, and homey.
