In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. Decided to stop by here randomly for dinner. And the menu is pretty overwhelming there is A LOT goin on but they do sell breakfast all day! I got the pot roast dinner with a sweet tea a soup and their corn bread. The portion sizes was nice and big they give you a decent amount of food. The food was very tasty! Pot roast tasted good a classic pot roast flavors were nice, the loaded mashed potatoes were absolutely amazing! And the cornbread was good although it came out cold initially the actual flavor was nice. It was a sweet and Cakey corn bread muffin. So if you prefer the more savory style it might not be for you. The muffin was also huge! Tomato bisque soup very tasty. The service was great! Very attentive and nice! And the sweet tea was fresh brewed! Really good sweet tea. Overall I would say it was good spot. I would recommend for a quick dinner diner I will come back for breakfast.

Food and service is amazing. There might be a lil wait, especially on the weekends, but it’s so worth it if you’re patient. Once seated you won’t be disappointed. It’s also fun to go shopping for souvenirs before or after. Love their slippers and cups.

The best part was the service and the food was really good… 5 stars all the way around… The people were friendly and it was my birthday… There wasn’t many waiters… But the guy we got was on point.. in his game. He brought me ice cream and a candle ️ on it. I would come here again… I went to the one in Santa Clarita but there are so different.. service better here.. food both two thumps up.. the corn bread was so good I’m still thinking about it.. and the soup was pretty good too.

Awesome and friendly service. I highly recommend you eat here. The portions are huge and tasty. We ate in the evening and received our food quickly. The server was friendly and helpful with answering our questions. I recommend you stop by and give them a try when you’re in the neighborhood. Pricing seems very reasonable due to the size of the portions.
