Updating my review after a very bad experience today. My ham steak was full of gristle and was <> I only got 1 egg and my pancake was clearly sitting under the heat lamps while the rest of my order cooked: the plate was SCALDING and the pancake was crumbly and gross. Try the Black Bear out in Draper instead.

We have been going to Black Bear for years. We like the food, it is affordable, especially since the servings are huge and the left overs give us extra meals. The service is usually decent. But this last visit was rough… the food was amazing (I swear better than usual) but the waitress was very young, and I am assuming new. She dumped a glass of water all over my husband and son as she set it down. OK I comforted her as she was obviously stressed and embarrassed. Then it seemed every waiter in there but her brought us food and cleared our table. She was nice, and young so it is fine, and I will go back. It was just a rough visit.

I’m a regular customer here, since it’s my entire family’s neighborhood diner. The food is consistently excellent & keeps us coming back, when we just don’t feel like doing the cooking & cleaning. We look forward to coming here when its time to treat the ones you love to something nice. My server, Mary, has always been consistent, professional, efficient, and knows how to make us feel at home. I had the Classic Benedict this morning, and recommend it to friends & family.

I am very disappointed with the food I ordered in this restaurant, the pancake was cold to the point that the butter I put on it didn’t even melt, the hashbrown was cold as well and the eggs benedict were overcooked and cold too. I was not happy with that breakfast and I was hungry since I could not eat it in its entirety because it was cold and unpleasant to palate. I was very surprised to see that because I have come to this restaurant on previous occasions and the food has always been very good, I don’t know what happened today. I hope the Manager can see this review and take action on the matter. Thank you

As average as expected. The bathroom was very dirty. There was a sign up saying I should report substandard conditions, but I don’t work for Black Bear Diner. Seems like something they should be up on without my help. Also one of those dumb signs up advertising that they don’t pay high enough wages to keep themselves staffed.

Our server Mary always takes great care of us. Even when the line is out the door, we wait until one of her tables are available. She is always so kind and attentive. Thank you Mary for always making us fill at home. You’re the best!

I had a good overall experience and would go back! The breakfast was delicious. I ordered the two egg combo with the corned beef hash which wasn’t greasy at all like it can be. I do not recommend the iced cold brew. It had a very bitter taste. The orange juice is really delicious! It is freshly squeezed. The chorizo breakfast burrito was also very good!

This is the Best Place to eat any time of the day! When you have Mary as your waitress you always get the best service and your food is always hot when she brings it to your table. Ask for Mary any day except Mondays and Tuesdays. Yes the girl deserves 2 days off! Thank you Mary for being a great asset to Black Bear Diner!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I ordered food from this place and there was mold all throughout the crust of the apple cobbler. It smelled really bad as well. I ordered through Doordash and I did reach out to them as well. Do not waste time. If their items have mold, then I can only imagine what they’re kitchen looks like. DIRTY!!!!!!
