Took the family out to breakfast at Black Bear Diner. We got in right away. Our server was friendly and polite. The food was good. Just nothing special. I was excited to order the avocado toast. And disappointed when it came and it was just chopped avocado on dry toast. I’ll try them again as maybe it’s a one- off. But in our party of four no plate really stood out.

Buffy our waitress was A-ma-zing! She was truly fabulous in both kindness and efficiency. I rarely eat at Black Bear, but i might go back to the Roseville location, though i live near the Auburn one….just to tip her again

Black bear diner never ceases to be the best. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is always perfectly made. I’ve been to locations all across California, Arizona, and Idaho and the effort they put into their restaurant is always consistent!

The food is delicious and generous. Second time eating here this week- Taco salad was perfect. And beautifully displayed for a down home place- Hot turkey sandwich was delicious.

Black Bear Diner never disappoints! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with that cozy, cabin-style atmosphere and friendly service that makes you feel right at home.

The portions are HUGE and everything tastes homemade and comforting. The pancakes are fluffy, the bacon is perfectly cooked, and their breakfast plates are seriously filling. You definitely won’t leave hungry!

It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed family breakfast or brunch. Great service, hearty food, and a warm vibe every time. Highly recommend!

My recent experience at Black Bear Diner Roseville was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the service was unprofessional and unwelcoming.

The issue was not the entire staff, but specifically the employee who attended our table. He was noticeably rude, dismissive, and inattentive. Simple requests were met with eye-rolling and short, unfriendly responses. It honestly felt like we were inconveniencing him just by ordering food.

What made the situation worse was the complete absence of a manager. When we asked to speak with someone in charge, we were told there wasn’t one available. There was no accountability and no effort to resolve our concerns.

A restaurant can survive a small mistake, but it cannot survive poor customer service and a lack of leadership. Unfortunately, this visit left a very negative impression, and I would not recommend this location to anyone expecting basic courtesy and professionalism.

We were sat right away which was nice! Then, we got ignored by our waitress for about 20 minutes. She finally acknowledged us and we got our order in. The food came quick and was cooked to perfection! Veggie Omelet is the way to go! Our waitress checked on us once, about five minutes after receiving our food. Then, once again got ignored. We sat there waiting for our check for over 30 minutes. We tried to wave her down multiple times, but couldn’t catch her attention. Finally, I went up to her booth, let her finish enter the order she was putting in and asked for my check. I got a ride “I will come take care of you in a sec” response with some sass. If we do comeback, we will make sure to not receive her as our waitress. Food and other servers were perfect!

Pretty good breakfast or brunch place. Their portion is big, and the food is pretty good. Service is okay, depending on what time you visit (from my experience) been here a lot, had to download pictures (not all of them tho) from my Instagram

I will never eat here again. Ive been twice in the last 3 months and both times I didnt eat my food. Bears choice breakfast: scrambled eggs, biscuits gravy, once I ordered sausage links and once sausage patty. Doesnt matter, all gross. The sausage patty is fatty, soft balls mashed together. Im am unsure of what the terrible flavors are of everything.. just.. ew.
Food has gone downhill big time.

Thanksgiving dinner was good…plenty of food. Our tiny waitress was amazing…she never stopped moving during a very busy shift. And yet, she was attentive and kind. Hope she enjoyed the tip that we left which was meant to show our appreciation.
