Another amazing visit to Black Bear diner. Service and food was amazing. The resturant was extremely clean. Food came out fast and hot. Our server did an amazing job, her name is wheeler.
Stopped by for a late breakfast on Saturday. Jennifer was our server. Place was pretty busy but a table was immediately available. Restaurant, table and seats were clean. Our server Jennifer got our orders and our food came out quick. I ordered the Hobo omelet with fruit on the side. Food was steaming hot and fruit was ice cold as expected. Everything tasted delicious. Our server came by checking on us periodically. Food prices are within reason. Have been here twice before and have ordered through door dash a few times. We have never been disappointed. I highly recommend you visiting the Pasadena location.
The menu is vast. I believe they serve breakfast all day, which is a plus for me. I had the vegetable omelette, which was very well prepared. The meal was more than feeling. My mum had a taco salad, which was massive. She said it was very good, but she did say the meat wasn’t very seasoned, a negative. However, she said overall it was good and the dressing made up for the lack of seasoning on the beef. She really enjoyed her chowder. She said it was good and very hot.
We will definitely visit again.
I got the California Eggs Benedict, which includes avocado and fruit. The eggs were perfect and the hollandaise sauce was terrific. The fruit was crisp and fresh.
My brother got pancakes and eggs and said he liked them a lot. The pancakes were huge and fluffy.
They’re a little pricey, but so is everyone else. That’s just the times we’re in. If you’re in the mood for a good meal and a pleasant atmosphere, this is a great choice.
They did not include the broccoli side we ordered.
The salad was very brown and had no carrots/tomatoes/cucumbers like it was supposed to, and they put a muffin on top of it so it could get soggy. The fries (both regular and sweet potato) were soggy as well.
The potatoes in the pot roast were hard and tasted strange, and though the meat was tender it had very little gravy.
The coleslaw and meatloaf were just meh. Not worth spending near $40, even in support of the schools.
With a hometown dinner feel that I haven’t experienced since my local dinner closed its doors in 2022. I was surprised to find out it’s a chain but I’m glad it is! We need one up in Michigan people would love it!
I got the New York Steak and eggs with pancakes, coffee and orange juice. Both the steak and egg were cooked perfectly to order, the potatoes that came with it were perfectly crispy. The service was kind and efficient. I had a great time.
