In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. Awesome decor! Very woodsy with cute bears everywhere…inside and out! Menu is printed on newsprint. The food was delicious with very large helpings. Had to wait longer than was necessary to order. Friends seated at another table who came in with us had to wait because of the time it took for us to get to order.

I have 2 crazy, hyper toddlers. A 1.5 year old and a 2.5 year old. They were both high energy and didn’t want to sit still while waiting. The staff were so friendly and understanding. The Black Bear Diner has great food and AMAZING staff. Definitely recommend this cozy place for families, as well as account in general. Definitely will be visiting again soon. We got cute pj’s for both girls and cute teddy bears as well. Didn’t snap pics of the inside as that’s when they starred getting antsy.

It was my first time at this location. They were so good from the time that we got to the door to the time that we left. They held the door open for my mom and I. We had about a 10 minute wait to seat us. They took our drink order and immediately came back for our order. My mom had chicken fried steak and eggs. I had chili and onion rings. Food was delicious. We even took home some pie for later. I recommend coming into this location and seeing them. They will definitely take care of you.

Came in to Black Bear last Sunday. It was our first time there. Jamie was our waitress and did and amazing job. She was super friendly and outgoing and made sure all of our needs were met through the entirety of our meal. We will definitely be back for another meal.

This place was a wonderful pleasant surprise! We really enjoyed the server, who was just perfect! She made us laugh and seemed to know what we wanted before we even did! The food was very good. I had to have a few things modified in my order due to dietary restrictions and allergies. It was not a problem at all! And I recommend the sunrise mimosas! I really enjoyed my dish, which was a modified skillet. The hashbrowns were delicious. Everything was on point! I highly recommend this place! I wish it was closer to where I live!

Good filling food, was stuffed at the end. staff were nice, place was nice and clean. Family friendly area. Serve breakfast all day. Drinks are abit spendy, some drinks only get 1 refill others you don’t get refill. Except water of course. Bathrooms were nice and clean aswell. Don’t go very often. Probably acouple times a yr at most.
