In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. I tried the ribs and they were super tough. My husband wanted to order the meatloaf, but they were out for the day so he ordered the French toast and was not a fan. My kids ordered the pancakes and loved those. Seems like they specialize in breakfast more than lunch/dinner. Food was subpar. I give such a low rating because there was a foul odor, resonating with dead animal, most of the time we were there. I believe it started smelling that way when the air kicked on. I couldn’t eat anything after smelling that. Also on the menu, they advertise that you can get a cornbread muffin and a salad with your dinner. However, the waitress never asked me about the salad dressing, and I did not receive the cornbread and salad until I asked for them in a to-go box. I wouldn’t have even received that had I not asked for it. The fries were hot, but the coleslaw was very flavorless and runny. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends.

Came here with my family this morning and it was a great atmosphere and good food. We had a kind waitress and we liked that fact that other waiters were kind enough to bring out food and refill our coffee. Large portions of food for good prices, overall we will be back

I really wanted to give this restaurant a better review. The place was clean and had a nice vibe. Our server was friendly with a great attitude. However there wasn’t the standard follow up. Relfill the water, clear the dirty plates, quick delivery of the bill. The food was a miss for me. The chili sounded great when you read the description, but it lacked flavor and the cheese was not the best quality compared to other restaurants. Hopefully other dishes were better. I’ve gave 3 stars which means average so I’ll go with that. Vegas is a super competitive market I hope average is good enough. It’s a great location.

The outside look of the restaurant is unique. The decor on the inside is cool for a restaurant. This restaurant location has good amount of parking. The menu was designed in newspaper style. The coffee has some strength. The pot roast was pretty good and worth the wait.
