Food was really good. Had the grizz breakfast choice. Very good. Was a little off on service. Waited about 25 minutes before I asked a server. Two minutes later we were served but the two tables ahead had not gotten there food. A little weird. The atmosphere was great. Loved the theme. Not over the top but cozy.

A typical Black Bear Diner! The area around the diner is nice and gives you plenty of options to shop around at and walk off your lunch or dinner! The food is standard diner fare – tasty but nothing absolutely mouthwatering. The service was fantastic, however – the waiters and waitresses were attentive to my needs and were exceptionally friendly.

I was staying next door at four Points by Sheraton and Black Bear Diner is located in the same parking lot so it convenient to eat there. It’s clean and rustic. They have a good sized menu. It was raining so I ordered the bowl of chili and cornbread, they were good. It’s also near the freeway and shopping.

Good taste is guaranteed in Black Bear.. We had to wait a little before getting a table but it wasn’t a long waiting. My tuna salad was splendid, fresh and good sized. My children love to see all the bear art around.

It was ok. The pot roast was tasty and would order again. The meatloaf looked and tasted like it was packaged and microwave. Not a fan. The apple cobbler with ice cream was great. Not sweet at all which is a good thing. Real apples. Service was great and loved the music. A bit pricey but they serve alot.

Today was the first time that I went here. I got the fish n’ chips with a side of coleslaw and it was okay. I also tried some of someone’s pasta and it tasted pretty good. I’ll probably get that the next time I go.

Great experience at the Black Bear Diner in Emeryville. If you’ve never been to a Black Bear Diner it’s a must try. As mentioned in the name, the restaurant theme is really black bears. It’s a rustic themed wildness restaurant with amazing wooden carved black bears placed all over the inside and outside of the restaurant. Though Black Bear serves everything, I would highly recommend their breakfast. The omelette are really amazing and the butter biscuits are incredible. The biscuits are large, baked fresh every morning, and buttery soft. I highly recommend that you eat at a Black Bear Diner whenever you can.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is disappointing and overpriced. Pancakes come with fake syrup (No maple syrup!?). Corned beef hash is shredded meat tossed with a few potatoes—dry with no flavor. We wanted to experience the fun black bear theme but the food got in the way! Also bad music track.

One of the server managers was rude . I let them know that their cut potatoes had a bitter taste the first time and they replaced it for me I had the same issue with the hash brown I was just letting them know that they had an unusual taste that I couldn’t eat. And he got rude. I wasn’t asking him to replace it again I was just saying they should look into the problem. So his attitude was so rude I ended getting upset. He didn’t handle the situation very well at all . I wasn’t being rude or impolite in any way.

Utensils were dirty, and food was over-priced. And I took my napkin because table was sticky and when I wet napkin and cleaned table was filthy I wiped it showed black dirt and when I told host he act like I said something wrong and called 2 people to clean the table. And to pay for 3 people over a hundred dollars was unreal
