In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am – we’ve got something for everyone. There is nothing I can say negative about this place! I was looking for a family atmosphere with great food! Reas the reviews, and they were positive, so my daughter and I came waited not long the food was “amazing ” in the words of my daughter . The food was delicious, and i didn’t mention it, but they have FRESH squeeze ORANGEJUICE!!! The machine is right, so it’s fresh lol and the service was great, especially under a bit of pressure of being packed with hungry mouths, lol. Will be coming more often and will be sharing this spot for sure! Buying a hat next time!

My Father worked for Mr Norms and that’s Thee well known Norms Restaurants, he worked for Mr Norms on his VERY 1st Norms off La Cienega in LA, Worked for him for 20-30 years. Long story short, Norms Restaurants went from Family owned to Company owned, quality went down and how they made fresh food and bought packaged ruined my childhood exp. Already left a review , so why is it necessary to do this again ! So here we go. My first time coming here Service was good, food was good but the Biscuits and gravy was not acceptable, to much biscuit and not enough gravy, Which I asked for a bit extra and received. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I was not expecting to see I was charged extra for the Gravy, this is a restaurant not a fast food drive thru. This is not what I would expect to be charged for a sit down where they expect a Tips on top of the normal service, and this is not how you do Senior Citizens on a fixed income either. Cost dictates how many customers you get. I not sure I’ll be returning here again.

I absolutely enjoy eating here! It does get busy but it is worth the wait. The service is awesome and super friendly! Every plate is delicious and well served. Coffee is hot and tasty! Not expensive but worth every penny!

Such a great place for a family outing. Good food selection for breakfast lunch and dinner. Staff is fast and will help you quick. It is pricy but good if you want to eat out. I do recommend coming here. I got the classic French toast with bacon as well as a bowl of chili with corn bread. Really good.
