In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. On a Saturday around 1 pm were able to walk in with 8 people. They seated and served our party quickly. It’s a standard diner so it is diner food, nothing truly special but it is still good.

Excellent service, but there was hardly anyone in the place. The food was simple, a Belgian waffle, eggs, and bacon cooked just right. Food was delivered fast and got us out quickly. The only downside was a smelly/dirty restroom.

Good neighborhood diner. Staffs are friendly. Good is delicious and generous portion. Price is quite reasonable. While indoor dining is prohibited, they have outdoor sitting at the parking lot. They also have carryout.
