In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. This restaurant is good for the whole community not just truckers. I got food to go as I need to minimize stops and got 3 meals in this order. Everything was fresh, good quality, and the correct items I ordered. When people said it is better than Cracker Barrel I didn’t believe it but was willing to try it. I was pleasantly suprised. Black Bear Dinner is so much better than an Iron Skillet which I would not try again. The portions are hearty. There were more blueberries between the pancakes than in the photo. The only thing I would add is red and green peppers and onions to the loaded homestyle potatoes. Mine had bacon and cheddar which was still good. I tried to order online but couldn’t place my order so had to call it in. I got cinnamon roll French toast, fruit, and a blackberry bear claw. This should last me 2-3 day or meals.

Our Server Stacy was Warm & Friendly. Our food was delicious and it all came out hot and cooked to perfection. We came early and noted that once we left after eating our breakfast it started getting busy. We are from out of town but we will be back for More. Stay Pawsome Everyone

Black Bear Diner – Great Experience!
I visited Black Bear Diner today and had a really great experience overall. My server, Samantha, was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. She made sure I was taken care of and checked on me throughout the meal.
I did have one issue — my eggs had a hair in them — but Samantha handled it immediately and professionally, getting it fixed right away without any hassle. Mistakes happen, and the way she corrected it made a big difference.
The portions were huge, definitely an abundance of food, and everything else tasted great. Despite the minor hiccup, I’ll absolutely be returning again. Great service goes a long way, and Samantha made the visit worth it!

Great Food, Large Portions for the Price, and Great Service. That is how I would sum up the experience at this place. They have a broad menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I recommend the sweet cream pancakes. They’re huge and fluffy, ans you can order them anytime of day or night. But there’s plenty of other great menu items. I’ve also had the Tri-tip Dip from here and it is good as well.

Stopped by Black Bear Diner in Beaumont, TX, and had a great meal. I ordered the Santa Maria Tri-Tip Dinner with lemonade and finished with the Chocolate Cream Pie — everything was tasty and well-prepared. The service was friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and the price very fair (around $26 total). I left full and happy. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a hearty, satisfying meal on the road!

Great friendly place. Warm welcome when we walked in. Seated quickly and drinks order taken quickly by a very friendly server. Lots of choice on the menu. The food was hot, tasty and fresh. The sides were excellent. The mashed potatoes and onion rings made the meal. Large portions of food as well we had to ask for a box for our leftovers. I would highly recommend the Black Bear if you are in the area.

We frequent black bear diner all over Texas. We’re at the one in Fort Worth most of the time. But when we came to the Beaumont location., we had Tristin as our server and she was phenomenal, the food was delicious. The Caesar salad dressing and croutons were the best I’ve ever eaten
And to be honest, if it was not so freezing cold in the restaurant we probably would have stayed longer for my husband to have desert! But unfortunately, corporate controls their thermostats, and they could not turn the temperature up at all. It was a cool 60°. If not colder. ♥️ Thank you Tristin!
