In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. I usually come in the mornings, Cristina is always taking great care of me and my buddies. Keeping our coffee full.This time I came in on Sunday evening I got a Cobb salad it was delicious Props to the cook because I noticed on my way to the restroom it seemed to be just him. A hard worker! There were two waitresses both were very sweet and attentive they did a great job. My waitress sat us took our order brought our food and even took care of us at the register all while having a positive energy and contagious smile. Overall an impressive experience. I want to thank Angelica and the whole staff, we will be back Sunday morning!

Rosa the waitress is awesome and she deserves all her tips and shouldnt be shared with the bouncer or the host because Rosa is doing everything alone by self other than the cooking..the food is delicious even though whoever in the kitchen got my food wrong so had to wait again. Rosa did everything right but they got her working all over the place and out of breath need another person to help especially when it start getting busy.What I did not like to see is the fact that Rosa was the only waitress there on every side trying to take everybody orders, bring food, clear tables and etc. The other young lady walking around cleaning the tables, what I didn’t like is that she was using the same towel to wipe off the tables and the bench seats which is really nasty to me. Our table was a little sticky and asked the cleaning lady if she could wash off our table and she tried to use the same towel and asked if she can get a new towel because I just seen her using that towel on other tables and seats and then she disappeared. Other than that it was good. Rosa need help when it gets crowded but she was great no complaints with Rosa..she is a keeper…

Ok!! I’m going to try to keep it short and sweet.
1st, I know it was Christmas and busy and tried to be mindful of that
2nd server I wished I got her name but was completely overwhelmed but incredibly Rude! And Dismissive and would walk away in mid sentence.
3rd. All 3 orders was completely wrong. So In the picture was my order. I ordered a medium Bleu cheese burger with onion rings. However what I got was an well done burger with fries. Also wait for the incorrect order was a 40+ minute wait.
My family ordered Country fried steak with mashed potatoes and they came out ice cold and white gravy.
4th. I repeatedly had to reach out to the manager Chris, who I believe became frustrated with us because we kept reaching out to him about the issues. Mind you none of our food was remade none of the issues with the food were addressed. When they finally were it had been another hour. Before they attempted to Make any attempts to fix the issues. By that time we were ready to leave.
5th and Final. After everything we served 2 mild sausages that another member of our family ordered. In the beginning but got spicy instead of mild . Then with all the issues they still attempted to charge us for the meal.

Ordered Christmas dinner to go this year since my cooking skills are awful and my mom has failing health. The food was good and a lot of portions. The service when I picked up the food was great, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and seemed well organized. My only thing I would have liked was the food to be a little warmer but honestly I can’t complain about it at all. 2 Christmas dinners and no headache of having to cook was far and away better for me this year. Merry Christmas to all Thank you for coming through in a big way this year.

Everyone there were attentive and friendly. When she was taking our order I was not familiar with the menu , I asked if they had a plate with my favorite breakfast sides and she suggested a plate that came with all of my choices. She came and check if we were happy with the food and came multiple times to refill my coffee and water. She was funny and very attentive. Sorry I forgot her name. The service was fast and all the food was yummy. I definitely will come back.

Today me and my kids had the best experience ever. My server name was Maria. She was beautiful.. Very sweet and always checking up on us. Taking plates off our way when finished. Re filling our drinks without asking everywhere she was on point. I love her attitude, always smiling. Definitely recommend her when you come in. As for our food was hot on time.

I came for breakfast on Friday 12/19 and it was excellent. The food was great and the service was top notch. I decided to treat my husband to lunch the next day and again food/ service excellent. The staff was all smiles and very welcoming. From the hostess at the door to the servers and cashiers, they were awesome. I had to speak to the manager (Chris) and let him know how great everything was.
Do yourselves a favor and stop by and grab a bite, you will not be disappointed.

I went there on my birthday to use my birthday freebie meal. They gave me the choice to choose either 2 pancakes, 2 waffles, biscuits & gravy, 2 eggs ( cooked my way), sausage or bacon. I ordered the biscuits & gravy with both bacon & sausage & my eggs easy over. I ordered it to go. What I didn’t expect was that the biscuits & gravy would consist of 4 huge biscuits smothered in gravy ( pics posted). As I was waiting for my order I asked if I was allowed to use more than 1 coupon at a time since I had a coupon for a free meal just for signing up. They said “no problem”..so a ordered a second meal (same items as the first) to give to my boyfriend. Not bad…2 huge breakfast meals..for FREE!! Not to mention the delicious aroma filling the whole restaurant. Excellent food. Excellent customer service. Of course I’ll highly recommend this restaurant!! Of course I’ll be coming back to try their on there dishes!! 2nd visit..ordered their Waffles with extra butter, maple syrup, strawberries & whipped cream, 2 eggs over easy, 2 strips of bacon (to go). Again.. excellent customer service & the meal was absolutely delicious!!
